Pan Am Qualifier

If men's FS follows the women's lead, we may MFF out of any finals as the weight would be qualified.

Apologize for the tangent, but a true story about booting from my career 30 years ago.

Our base had just put in a new Unix network and after a few months of running fine one of the servers would hang when you started it. We were troubleshooting it and couldn't get it past that hang point, so we decided to call the help desk.

I told the other Sgt that we might as well go ahead an reboot it now because that is the first thing they are going to ask you to do. So, we reboot, it hangs up again and we call the help desk. They say, "reboot it". We say, "we just did". They say, "reboot it anyway".

Me having a bad day, got a bit testy and used my combat boot to lay a good kick on the front of the $20,000 server. Magically, after the kick the server goes past the point where it was hung and comes up fine. I say, "tell the guy booting it worked and hang up".

It turns out the server had an intrusion detection system we didn't know about and someone had not closed the front cover completely, so it would just stop. My kick closed the door completely. Most satisfying help desk call of my career..............
Okay, I'll tell one during the break in action.

Years ago before everyone was carrying multiple devices on which you could check email, and before the days of remote login, a coworker had to send his machine in to the mothership to fix a problem. He boxed it up, shipped it out and didn't hear anything for days. Finally, five or six days later, his machine shows back up at his house. He booted up, immediately checked his email to find a message from IT, which said, "We have received your computer, and we're working on it."

Finally... the return of David Taylor. Up against Ceballos (VEN)
  • A few half shots by DT. Handfighting.
  • Ceballos warned for stalling
  • Ceballows in on a leg, DT reaches over for an ankle. Stalemate.
  • Ceballos on clock
  • DT in on a shot near edge. Stepout or shot clock? Both, it's 2-0.
  • DT back in on a single, eventually converts. 4-0.
  • Two more shots, Ceballos jumps out of both.
  • DT with a shot that results in a stepout just before end of first, 5-0.
  • Break
  • DT moving forward, gets another stepout.
  • Double for two
  • Another double for two. 10-0. DT solid, maybe not quite as electric as usual but he's been away for awhile and perhaps wanted to stay out there for a bit.
50-0 scoring on the day for the US guys.

Against the 5th best guy from 2016 olympics

whoever wins at olympic trials, which should still precede the world last chance qualifier
Last chance world Olympic qualifier is the first weekend in May I doubt trials happen before then.It could also be moved

Last Chance has been postponed by UWW along with postponing the European qualifier. This is probably the last wrestling anywhere for a while. Asian Qualifier also postponed
