Pan Am Qualifier

Says rescheduling for the beginning of June.Thats when I think trials will be 1st or 2nd weekend of June.USAW calendar allows for it and the BJC is available.
I don't know if we should hold our breath on that, we were supposed to have NCAAs, then NCAAs without fans, then no NCAAs. I think everything is still very much in flux.

Whoever wins the trials will be our rep to try to qualify us, that's how it works.

If it's Zain, all the haters can just deal with it. Go to another team's board or a community forum like TheMat if you want to s*** talk Zain Retherford, not here.

How 'bout DT!!

After injury & layoff.

When it was 2-0, Cuba hit that arm drag / slide-by on DT & looked like he was going to score easily.

Damn ... like lightening, DT stepped laterally for quick whizzer and into his own counter takedown. I don't think many wrestlers get out of that danger + hit his own TD there.

Was a thing of beauty.... looked like... Magic.

It sucks for Zain and the team. Such a flukey thing. The finals would have been a better place to let it fly, but that’s Zain. He never wrestled scared. Such a bummer.

that was a mistake that he should not have made in that spot.
can't imagine what he is feeling right now
if his bronze opponent decides to wrestle, I expect an ass kicking

The double Zain hit for the TD was so quick & crisp.
Vintage Zain.
If the match would have played out, Zain would have beaten the ARG opponent.

No sense in feeling bad for Zain. At the NCAA level Zain almost never made match determining mistakes. At the level he competes now, those mistakes have become much more routine.

It looked to me like Zain rushed the lace and didnt have it quite locked up. Fluke for sure, with a tight LL he prolly would have finished that match just like the previous match.

Anyway, trivia time, who was the last person to pin ZR?

Zain was up 10-0 and allowed the move to continue to earn the fall.

174 gold: Franklin Gomez on deck, Mat B

186 gold: DT vs PERU, in the hole, Mat B.

285 gold: Dhesi vs Gwiz, several matches away, Mat B.

Who is talking shit? lol good lord man calm down.

Maybe Cornell's lawyers can be team players and file an appeal since Yianni is also not qualified.
When did individual wrestlers get "qualified"? It's the country that gets qualified for the Olympics at a given weight. Had Zain won that match, the US could send whoever it wanted to the Olympics (IIRC) at 65kg, including JO, Yianni, or Zain. Or Nick Lee, for that matter. But no...

That was as fluky as anything I've ever seen. I mean, if Zain gets out of that he probably still gets a tech. I think you're right, he rushed the lace, plus the guy was well planted--he didn't have to adjust much, just turn in. He looked great otherwise. I don't know when the last time Zain was pinned but I'd guess grade school.
