Penn State adds former ACC/B1G/SEC DC Robb Smith in an analyst role
Penn State Football has added a new analyst to the staff today in former Duke DC/LBs coach Robb Smith.
🤔…….,.🤷🏻♂️Hmmnnn. DC at multiple schools. Arkansas, Minnesota, Rutgers, Duke. One year as LB coach in the NFL.
Could it be he was brought on the succeed Diaz in a year or two?

As analyst, he will spend a lot of time with Diaz learning his style and thinking. Prepping for the job.Exactly!

I agree, I like this guy……If I were a betting man, I'd place higher odds on Poindexter becoming the next DC before this guy.
Now, under that scenario, you have him and Connor as analyst's who could then fill the LB coach role Diaz would be vacating.
Hair Pie....SPAZ, SPAZ, SPAZ!
👏👏👏👏
But he stole your dance moves,🕺🏽
If true, and it fits with the pattern, is simply another piece of evidence indicating Franklin is incapable of winning a championship due to poor judgement.I think I remember JF looking for 2 year commitments for outside coordinator hires except if the coach lands a major D1 HC gig.
What pattern are you talking about? That Franklin wants coordinators to say they’ll stay two years? Landing Yurcich and Diaz were absolute home runs. Franklin has proven that he will fire coaches and look for upgrades. Not sure what poor judgment your talking about. If true, and it fits with the pattern, is simply another piece of evidence indicating Franklin is incapable of winning a championship due to poor judgement.
Coaching instability is a major problem under Franklin. He churns through offensive coordinators and hires system coordinators with little regard for the talent on hand, with the lone exception of Joe Moorhead who really doesn't have a system. He has a demonstrated track record of making mediocre to poor decisions. What pattern are you talking about? That Franklin wants coordinators to say they’ll stay two years?
