It was a questionable decision to not challenge the play. JF has a history of making questionable decisions. Thus his questionable judgment impacts every big game. There is no correlation that points to doing something in one game hurting us in another game….none whatsoever. Every game is different.
The pushoff by the Duck TE was even worse than the Bucks WR. The WR basically extends his arms. The Duck TE puts his whole weight behind the push, like he's trying to shotput him across the field.
But they could come out the next game and have no situations where the decisions would be questionable. They may come out and win by 30 or lose by 30, so no one decision matters. I’ve seen him challenge many plays…this is the first and only decision like this particular one I’ve ever seen, so I doubt it comes up again. It was a questionable decision to not challenge the play. We looked like we belong in the top 5 team conversation tonight. Much different than our last 2 vs OSU (where our offense couldn't score a TD). I didn't expect to win going into the game, but the offense played good enough to give us all hope, but lacked the greatness to pull off the upset.I'll see you guys in a few weeks. I'm just grumpy because I really thought we had a chance tonight to win Big 10 and get #1 overall seed.

Im leaning towards the 2nd. Minus our slow starts, undisciplined penalties, lack of forcing turnovers, suspect coaching decisions, and we were certainly on the wrong side of the whistle tonight, I thought our offense played their best game of the year. Problem is, our slow starts, undisciplined penalties, inability to force turnovers, suspect coaching decisions and being on the wrong side of the whistle are all baked into the cake in big games under James in this conference. If you're a Penn State fan you can take this loss one of two ways.
Way 1) Penn State can't still win the big games, there's no hope in the playoffs
Way 2) Penn State went toe-to-toe with perhaps the national championship favorite and if the offense shows up like they did tonight, they can beat anyone.
Interested to see how the reaction is split.
LOL...well said. But, hey, a longer runway will help swing the pendulum of our program.Im leaning towards the 2nd. I'm going to continue to write like that to just spite you.
