The Orine kid at 133 for NC State is a tough little freshman. Philippi did get the W tho.
This ref is not afraid to call stalling. Anybody backing up when going out of bounds has been called. Really the way it should be.
I though after watching Cleary backpedal the entire match calling Scott for stalling for his first two backwards steps was ridiculous.
If Hidlay were to try wrestling Aaron the way he wrestles against others (like Harvey) that would make for a fun match. Of course, this would present Aaron numerous offensive opportunities and would not end up a one score match, but it would be fun to watch.

Like Jacob Warner, but with more length and actual knowledge of pinning combinations.
He should have tried harder on those pinning combos when Warner beat him earlier this year.
Wasn't that match close? IIRC Warner won with a defensive TD when Trumble took a bad shot. I suppose by trying harder you meant Trumble instead of forcing the offense could have waited for Warner to shoot. I think that may have been the strategy, but Trumble realized Warner was waiting on a couple stall calls and was never going to shoot.
Warner snacks on pinning combos?
I found the Cole Mathews/ Ryan Jack match. I am not sure they touched each other the first period......maybe it was covid protocol wrestling. I turned away only later to find they ended 0-0 after 1. What a shock. Jack earned an escape in the second and Mathews was called for stalling. In the 3rd, Mathews earned an escape. Jack shot with 15 seconds left, Mathews turned it into 2 and won 3-1.

I’ve always hated watching Mathews wrestle. No shit, if he were wrestling against someone from Iowa I’d hope to see him lose.
