You seem to be the only one saying we absolutely shouldn't be....hmm, I wonder why.
We didn't even play very well and still beat Pitt easily.Shows how lousy the ACC coastal is. Virginia and Pitt, two teams Big 10 teams housed(one being Indiana), should beat Miami
Pitt's up 17-7... nearing end of 3Q..
...can they hold on?...
So Bama runs the table and gets in....Clemson wins and gets in....Oklahoma loses to WVU then wins championship....OSU loses to UM then beats Wiscy....Miami is out, Oklahoma is out, Wiscy is out, Auburn is out, GA is out and OSU is out. That leaves two of your eight teams. That's why we would be in the discussion.Wait, someone thinks we should be?
The only teams still possibly making the playoffs are Alabama, Miami, Clemson, Oklahoma, Wisconsin, Auburn, Georgia & Ohio State.
Explain why we'd be in the discussion? 1-2 against ranked teams--best win Northwestern. Horrible non-conference schedule though let's go Pitt so that looks better
If Pitt wins we're a lock for the NY6 Bowl--so go Pitt (assuming we beat Maryland but if we can't beat Maryland we don't deserve it anyway)
Until they get smoked by clemson.I wouldn’t be sure. Judging by the committee’s actions so far- if Miami loses they will drop them to around #6 or #7- still ahead of PSU.
If sPitt wins do they award themselves another national championship?

We haven't been creating turnovers recently.
Boy, you're feeling quite the expert. You have no idea if all those things are true, but you are not afraid to spout off as if you do. If GA gets rolled by Bama, no way they're in. If Oklahoma loses to WVU, they're out. And a one loss Wiscy would be out for the same reason you keep saying they wouldn't get in ahead of OSU, poor schedule. I realize a lot has to happen, but for you to ramble on and on like you're on the committee is ridiculous.Georgia as an 11-2 with losses to Auburn & Bama would be a lock--you would need Ga Tech to beat them.
Why would 11-2 Oklahoma be out?
We would be ahead of 12-1 Wisconsin?
We'd still have no chance...for us to have a chance we need
1. Bama to win out
2. Clemson to win out
3. Miami to lose out
4. Auburn to lose to Bama (goes with Bama winning out)
5. Georgia to lose out (includes Ga Tech)
6. Wisconsin to win out
7. Oklahoma to lose out
8. Stanford to beat Notre Dame
9. Washington or Washington State to win the Pac XII--USC would jump us
I'm not even sure we get in over 10-3 Ohio State though I'd argue we should
We need it to be
1. Alabama
2. Clemson
3. Wisconsin
4. Then for us to somehow get the 4th spot which I still think it would go to USC or TCU but we'd be in the discussion
As of right now, 2:45 on 11/24...we're not in the discussion and would need chaos to even reach the discussion level

Pitt will lose. They are already playing not to lose. When Miami scores here the turnover chain will be next
Because if GA gets rolled in the SEC championship game, why would anyone want to see a rematch? Oklahoma will be out because the Big 12 is not looked at very favorable and a two loss Big 10 team would get in before a two loss Big 12 team. The committee has always given the Big 10 a lot of clout.Explained why they're out...Georgia and Oklahoma when they have more wins then us
Wisconsin at 12-1 gets in over us at 11-1 with the same quality win(s)--Northwestern & maybe Michigan
There's no way Oklahoma is out if the lose to WVU and beat TCU--absolutely none with that Ohio State win
Thank you sPitt - looks like they are going to do us an unintentional solid.

Completely off topic but now I see that even Mark Knopfler has sold out. Money talks. Hey, Pete Townshend told everyone to bugger off after he sold half the Who catalog to American television, lol.
