Pitt's Aston Injured

According to the Pitt Board, their Starting Fullback broke his ankle. Hate to see players injured.

Edit: Actually, his name is Aston. Spelled it wrong in the Caption.

You, OP, can click on wrench and edit title......

He's a load. That is a tough break for him. Almost all the players are here because they love the game, very few guys will ever get paid. Especially for a senior, it's a shame that all that drudgery and sacrifice is down the drain. Conditioning. Sprints. Weight room at 0500. Spring ball. Everything on your body always hurts. That's why I always try to appreciate the players.

Pitt has been known to line up one of their guards, O'Neill, in the backfield as short yardage runner or receiver. Might be seeing more of that. Beware of the guy in the pullover jersey.

Fortunately for Aston, it looks like he's only a redshirt junior, so he'll be back for them next year (if it's season ending).

Just looking at his stats - pretty wild for a true fullback to have 10 touchdowns in a season in the modern era of football. He was a pretty good player against us.

He's also recovering from a significant shoulder injury and may not be ready at the beginning of the season.

DB Phillippe Motley also on crutches. Pitt has now lost 6 starters for the Penn State game, 7 is very possible unless O'Neill heals fast, as is he won't be at 100 percent.

All these injuries.....one really has to be careful getting on and off those buses when you have your football cleats on!

But hate to see anybody / anywhere get hurt, the game is brutal enough even for those that remain "healthy"!

Injury is a very unfortunate consequence of an otherwise great game. Sorry for any player on any team to suffer an injury. I hope this young man can return and play another season at full strength.

Tough break, don't wish injury on anybody even if they play at Pitt. I wanted them at full strength so they have no excuses.

Feel bad for the kid but he probably would have been the difference between a 49 to 17 loss and a 49 to 17 loss

I cringe at the thought of preseason injuries. See John Reid. Just a shame.
