The amount of this present is sad.

How about we hire a coach that can establish a run game, some physical and mental toughness, play smart and get back to Penn State football. Or are well all ok with what we saw this year and last?

is it really that tough to at least try?!

Here's the thing.

Lots of coaches can instill toughness, run the ball, etc. Look at Wisconsin, Iowa, even Michigan.

They frequently get boat raced by Ohio State.

If we want to get over the OSU hurdle (and actually challenge them for conference supremacy), it's going to require several things. But it starts with getting elite talent. Because no matter how tough or gritty or well-coached the Northwesterns and Wisconsins of the world are, they never beat OSU. Everything you described, Pat Fitzgerald meets. But what he lacks is elite talent.

Franklin recruits very well, but not at that elite level. I thought we were going to get there with the 2018 and 2019 classes, but then it fell off. And we're feeling that now.

That‘s spot on. But that‘s also the juxtaposition with Franklin. He is indeed getting close to bringing in elite talent every year. But then you have the yearly job hunt distractions, the tradition of losses following the first loss, bad player development, and bad game management on the other side.

I do think it is time for a change, we may do better, we may do worse. It’s the great unknown that is exciting. What is not exciting is losing to OSU five times in a row and getting a participation trophy for playing them close.

I disagree. Our team is loaded with 4 star talent on both offense and defense. About 1/2 of them are playing like 2 stars.

Recruiting + Development + Coaching = Success

We only have 1 of the 3 with Franklin. Punt the GD football on the road to pin them deep when your defense is playing lights out. That's how you force the other team into making mistakes. A concept foreign to Franklin.

im absolutely not guilty of this. I had a blast watching the game. It was super entertaining. That said, I want a new regime. I want NY6 every year.

We don’t have a choice. But it does not look promising.
