among the very successful transfer we see, many have taken the high road and gone to teams far from their original team. Fields from UGA to tOSU, Burrows from tOSU to LSU, Martel from tOSU to Miami, J Johnson from Penn State to Oregon. it is good to see these players going far away to get a new start. what would be a problem to me is for them to transfer within the same league. in the past this was limited as coaches could stop the transfer. for a player to transfer from say Clemson to South Carolina would be a problematic.

riverrun, past Eve and Adams, from swerve of shore to bend of bay, brings us by a commodius vicus of recirculation back to Howth, Castle and Environs.

Sir Tristram, violer d'amores, fr'over the short sea, had passencore rearrived from North Armorica on this side the scraggy isthmus of Europe Minor to wielderfight his penisolate war; nor had topsawyer's rocks by the stream Oconee exaggerated themselse to Laurens County's giorgios while they went doublin their mumper all the time....

And once upon a time there was a “gentlemen’s agreement” re going after committed recruits.

So you’re not a fan then of Jordan Stout’s decision to transfer up the road to Penn State as it’s too close and the Hokies are on the schedule next year?

So your definition of "very successful" is: appeared in two games, rushed twice fro two yards, and had no passing attempts. The picture next to that definition is:

he was not on scholarship.

the point here is that players transferring to teams that are on regular schedule or same conference to me is going to create big problems. if Fields had gone from UGA to Bama, that is whole different problem than going to tOSU. of course anyone could meet again in playoffs - so Burrow may wind up facing tOSU a couple years removed in playoffs. if we start seeing a lot of intra-conference transfers, i think we will see new rules emerge. If we had guy go to UM, tOSU, MSU, etc - I would consider that a problem that needs to be dealt with by a rule/reg. it would be marginal of the player/team IMHO. surprised nobody is bothered by that or thinks it is just fine. it is poor values IMO.

Being on scholarship changes the argument how exactly? Still a player - a starter even - that transferred to a nearby school and said schools will play each other next year which is what OP complained about.

is it ok for OSU to hire Al Washington or do we need a rule/reg prohibiting that too?
