Some interesting comments heard on tonights "11 Warriors" preseason evaluation on Columbus TV:
1. The commentators were raving about their DLine. Saying this is the best three deep in OSU history at ANY position group! Each DLineman in turn raved about LJ being the best DL coach in the country, loving his players, and being able to get everyone to respond to his coaching.
2. They stressed their front 7 is looking so good that their young (4star+) DBs will play a lot of press coverage, because they wont have to worry about longer routes since the pressure on nearly every play will be so intense that opposing QBs wont have time to throw downfield.
3. Side comments included that LJ is such a good coach and person you wonder why he isn't the head coach at Penn State. And, we were lucky to steal him away from Penn State.
4. They indicated that the starting punter and FG guys will likely be freshmen, and no one has stood out as of yet. ( chink in the armor?)
Let me say that while the commentators were homers, they were NOT raving, gung ho guys, and were sincerely, genuinely impressed by LJ and their front 7 three deep, on D.
