PSU "Alternate" Uniforms

I hate the white shoes. Maybe that goes back to the 1979 Alabama Sugar Bowl game. But I do like the numbers on the helmets.
Yea, I don't get the "tradition" of including white shoes. The one and only time that PSU has worn white shoes was in the biggest game in the program's history (the first true shot at a NC) and they lost the game.

Probably because I'm younger but I love the look of the white cleats, or just white cleats in general. I honestly love everything about the uniform as a whole and would be a fan if PSU made it their permanent home uniform.

I was at the indinia throwback game a few years ago. Remember Barkley’s one-handed catch where he stopped on a dime to avoid a defender and then turned on the jets in an instance? Ridiculous.

I would like to see blue pants with white stripe and white jersey. I don’t recall ever seeing that combination.

I think the throwback uniforms are overdone at this point. White shoes are a bad memory and not really part of our history. I do like the numbers on the helmets though and would support them as part of the permanent uniform.

I think an occasional modern alternate uniform would be a cool idea though. All blue for example. Not every year and not for a big game.

I'm with you, I love the kits and the white cleats. I'll always be a fan of white cleats, the thing that really sets this uniform off are the gray facemasks though. If there is one thing that could transfer to our current uniform, the gray facemask would be it for me.

If we want to do a throwback, we have to go back to royal blue. People seem to forget that Paterno was responsible for the most drastic change to the uniform. He changed the color from a royal blue to a navy blue in the late 60s. Here's a pic where the stripe & number on the helmet are navy while the jersey was still royal. 11/2/1968.

UGH Anyone who has worn those rues the day they were on your feet. Ours were SpotBilt, but they look exactly the same. I have really wide feet and had to cram them into those monstrosities. I've never had anything hurt my feet so bad before or since.
You just gave me a flashback to my first pair of cleats. I was in fourth grade playing peewee football and got a cheap pair from Hills. I think they cost about $2. They hurt my feet and made me slow. Luckily I somehow came across a pair of hand-me-down Pumas. They were so comfortable.

The white shoes had NOTHING to do with the loss.

I hated the whole football uniform to include the stupid WHITE shoes, the change from all white socks, the stripes on the pants, and the numbers on the helmets. I hated it all. Why didn't they just put player names on the jersies to complete the total uniform disaster.

After today, they should wear pink shoes next year as a tribute to losing a nine overtime game with BB as the opponent coach

You do know they've worn those uniforms before..right?

They should have done real throwbacks. All pink uniforms including a pink helmet with barely visible black uniform numbers. That’s the way they played yesterday, like a powderpuff team.
