Head-to-toe breakdown of Penn State's awesome alterenate uniform
Yea, I don't get the "tradition" of including white shoes. The one and only time that PSU has worn white shoes was in the biggest game in the program's history (the first true shot at a NC) and they lost the game.I hate the white shoes. Maybe that goes back to the 1979 Alabama Sugar Bowl game. But I do like the numbers on the helmets.
Probably because I'm younger but I love the look of the white cleats, or just white cleats in general. I honestly love everything about the uniform as a whole and would be a fan if PSU made it their permanent home uniform.

I like the numbers on the helmets as well and dare I say...gray face masks. 🤣I hate the white shoes. Maybe that goes back to the 1979 Alabama Sugar Bowl game. But I do like the numbers on the helmets.
I'm with you apart from the white shoes.Probably because I'm younger but I love the look of the white cleats, or just white cleats in general. I honestly love everything about the uniform as a whole and would be a fan if PSU made it their permanent home uniform.
I would like to see blue pants with white stripe and white jersey. I don’t recall ever seeing that combination.

UGH Anyone who has worn those rues the day they were on your feet. Ours were SpotBilt, but they look exactly the same. I have really wide feet and had to cram them into those monstrosities. I've never had anything hurt my feet so bad before or since.
Other than being stepped on by a DT wearing themI've never had anything hurt my feet so bad before or since.
You just gave me a flashback to my first pair of cleats. I was in fourth grade playing peewee football and got a cheap pair from Hills. I think they cost about $2. They hurt my feet and made me slow. Luckily I somehow came across a pair of hand-me-down Pumas. They were so comfortable.UGH Anyone who has worn those rues the day they were on your feet. I have a pair of socks that look like that.

The white shoes had NOTHING to do with the loss.I think the throwback uniforms are overdone at this point. White shoes are a bad memory and not really part of our history. I do like the numbers on the helmets though and would support them as part of the permanent uniform.
I think an occasional modern alternate uniform would be a cool idea though. All blue for example. Not every year and not for a big game.

Again???Does anyone know if white shoes had anything to do with the loss?

You do know they've worn those uniforms before..right?I hated the whole football uniform to include the stupid WHITE shoes, the change from all white socks, the stripes on the pants, and the numbers on the helmets. I hated it all. Why didn't they just put player names on the jersies to complete the total uniform disaster.
