PSU comes in at #12 in CFB Playoff Rankings**

Awesome!! Now let's get focused on the Hawkeyes or this ranking will not mean a thing..

Let's prove it the rest of the year and end the recruiting with a huge bang

A lot of props from Herbie et al on ESPN . Discussed Big 10 Championship game possibility. Insinuated that any team in Top 15 could make the Final 4

In a four team playoff you have to be a conference winner, PERIOD. At 8 teams, different story. I have faith it works out. Exception, if UW loses then I have no problem Pac 12 and B12 being left out this year.

Their SOS is a good 20+ slots better than U-Dub's. The Pac12 this year is horrible... no Stanford or Oregon on the national scene this year

I don't want to be in the playoff this year. I want psu in the playoff next year. One more year stronger to actually compete physically.

Any particular "SOS Ranking" algorithm is just as subjective as anything else.

Its the kind of garbage that gives talking-heads and fan-boys something to talk about - and act as if it has meaning.

Nothing more.....nothing less

Agreed, there is no statistical relevance to ranking a schedule when conferences play 75% of their games "in-conference" - it is effectively equivalent to ranking a conference based on conference records which is absurd when so few of any team's schedule is made up of OOC games. Who's to say that a 2-loss Wisconsin team is better than three 2-loss Pac12 teams???

Wow a lot of great Rivalries in the top 25. Auburn Alabama, Michigan Ohio State, Florida Florida State, Oklahoma Oklahoma State. I don't see our rivals in there though....where are Rutgers and Maryland?

I'm pretty sure we'd beat Washington in a night game in the Beav.

This is fun, especially because of how mad it gets Pitt fans and all the haters. We've got a tough game this Saturday hopefully the boys can take care of business so we can keep having fun with all this and dreaming a little.

Rankings. Lololol.
Yeah, Rankings.

That's why Joe Paterno put his finger up in the air after his team beat Georgia in 1983. He was actually #2 at the time and Pitt had just thrown their game vs unbeaten SMU, and SMU was politicking for the top spot even if PSU won. Joe put his finger up for number one, because you bet your damn ass that number one was important to him.

Rankings. Not LOL at all.

Let's cheer a PSU actual win Saturday night over Iowa before speculating on an non-game against U Wash.
Iowa? We're playing Iowa?

According to many on this board, we are playing the 85 Bears defense, and the 84 Forty-niners offense. And you say this is "Iowa"?

Who knew?

1994. Rankings. Lololol.

I recall being angry and feeling cheated. Not laughter. To each his own I guess.

I also clearly remember, in quick succession, the move to adopt the BCS playoff system, because of that cheated situation, that the nation knew all too well about.

In the PAC, with Washington's OOC schedule, their best win is over us. We're not a top 10 team, we're about where we belong at this point. If we win out, top 10, but we're not there yet...

The Utes looked pretty good Saturday. They never gave up, showed a lot of grit, and were deep in UDub territory late trying to tie the game. At 7-2 the Thanksgiving weekend game with Colorado will be fun to watch with a lot on the line.

A&M def has a better resume than U-Dub. If they played Bama, they'd have a loss too
Wait until the Leghumpers play the Mighty Golden Bears this Saturday night. Their stock will definitely go up. LOL...

A 8 team college playoff is the way to go. If that were the case, Penn State would have a very good shot to be in if they were to win out.

And look how much it's pissing off some of the "fans" on this board. I doubt they're too many teams that have fans on their own board trashing a team that is ranked way higher than anyone thought possible. I've never seen anything like it. And not only that, let's trash our future opponents as well to downplay beating them so it doesn't look like much of an accomplishment. Backhanded compliments are pretty much the norm on this board.

We're clearly not in the upper echelon of college football right now, but it's still great to be on the same web page with those who are. And the utter pain about this emanating from the Pitt folks is quite enjoyable.

They've been reduced to gloating about how they "ruined" our season by beating us.
