I hope you are correct, but the non-conference schedule really drags down the resume. It is unfortunate, because this team is good enough to go to the NCAAs. The scheduling may still keep them out.
I love your enthusiasm and I have been on the bandwagon for a long time now. I have no idea what the selection committee will do based upon beating Purdue vs losing to Purdue. For the last few weeks I’ve been saying that we lose to MSU and Purdue but win against Iowa, Illinois, tOSU, Nebraska and Michigan. Purdue certainly looks less invincible now and I’d certainly trade a victory against Purdue for a loss against either Michigan or Nebraska. I don’t like the chances of losing to both Michigan and Nebraska, even if we do manage to beat Purdue.

Does the committee take into account how you finish the season or is game 1 just as important as the final game?
Yes and yes.....but some members go yes and no.....or no and yes.....or no and no.
If one of those 3 wins isn't against Purdue, then they need 4 more wins to feel at all confident on Selection Sunday.
It's not part of the official criteria. So it comes down to how much emphasis individuals would put on it.
A win @ PUR would certainly put PSU in a great position but there is NO WAY they could follow that up with 3 straight losses and still make the tournament.
I think they need to win 2 of 3 plus one in the BiG tournament.

also it appears this committee has a tendency to allocate certain max # to each conference. how many do we think BIG will get?

I think we are seeing the tOSU team that was picked for 12th in the preseason. They have run out of luck and Holtzman’s schemes are now better understood and teams are playing better against them.

Their best all around player in my opinion, dont know if its enough to get PSU the edge but really helps a guy like Stevens to not have him out there on both ends of the floor.
While media and fans make a deal out of conferences, I've never seen that type of logic from the committee. I think the B1G will end up getting however many deserving teams we have in a few weeks.
And OSU is a lock.
