Allar isn’t the only one with a chance to go in the top 10 of next year’s draft, but he does have the best chance. The Nittany Lion signal caller has all the traits teams look for in the next level when it comes to arm talent and mobility, it’s just a matter of becoming a more consistent player.

He’s going to have a chance to do that this season with plenty of big games to perform well in, thanks to a schedule that features, Oregon, Ohio State, Indiana and probably multiple College Football Playoff games. Allar has the most to gain of anyone on the team when it comes to draft stock — because he could be the No. 1 overall pick in 2026.

That's interesting. I never would have guessed that Allar's in the top 3. Do the stats also show total attempts and completions at 15+ yards? Does Allar throw fewer/more times than the other top 5 QB's or is he in the same ballpark?

That graphic only shows that he completes a good percentage of 15 yd+ throws. It doesn’t respond to the complaint that he “doesn’t take shots downfield,” which would require knowing how many attempts he has at that depth. And how that compares to others.
You are over analyzing it. 15+ yards and shots downfield highly correlate. As a QB, you take what is presented to you

The only way to make that a meaningful stat is the look at the number of attempts, who they were against and the what the situation is (score, down and distance). Anything else and it is meaningless. My guess if you actually dug into it deeper you would see it is a mutant statistic.

And the quality of the team around him. OL to give time on deep routes, WR to run consistent routes, zone/man coverage….
