Just thinking about these two issues as it relates to tOSU. I will preface by saying Durkin will be gone IMO if for no other reason than "moving on" [anybody heard that before?
So my question is
. Does the UMd issue take the "shiny light" off of tOSU and allow them to keep Urban with no penalty or a 1-3 game suspension OR
. Assuming Durkin goes, does the fact that the primary culprit was an assistant coach in each case plus the more the public hears the more outraged they get put more pressure on tOSU to fire Urban OR
. these two cases are completely unrelated in the publics mind and will be viewed that way by all parties.
While it might not be fair, I come down on number 2, especially since tOSU has a couple other unrelated athletic scandals going on. If UMd takes full legal, and moral responsibility, fires the assist coach, and the head coach, and then tOSU says "nothing to see here" it is a very bad look ofr them as a University.
