Questionable TD......what?

I wasn’t a fan of it, but also not surprised by it.
Didn’t have a problem whatsoever with it. Kept telling my wife that I was somewhat surprised that Brown kept calling timeouts even after the onside kick failed (brilliant play by the PSU player to bat the ball out of bounds by the way). If you do that an extend the game when it was clear you weren’t going to win then you can’t complain if PSU’s backups keep playing and score, especially when all they did with the exception of one pass by Pribula for a first down was run very basic run plays.

I think Franklin wasn't happy ABOUT WVU going for two and using that KC Chiefs business. I think he decided they should score again.
See my other post. I don’t think so. I think he simply let the backups keep playing after Brown kept calling timeouts to extend the game when it was clear WVU wasn’t going to win.

Again, utterly ridiculous to claim PSU was trying to run up the score - PSU ran 9 plays, 8 runs and 1 pass (a short swing pass on 4th-&-2). It was WVU that extended the game significantly, not PSU - WVU used all 3 of their timeouts after PSU took over with 3:30 remaining (that's over 2 minutes of Game Clock had they let PSU run Play Clock as they were doing - IOW, WVU extended the game by 2:15 of running Game Clock by using all 3 of their Timeouts while PSU had ball (including using their final TImeout when PSU was facing 3rd-&-7 from the WVU 17 yard line with 2:11 remaining rather than let the clock run in a game that was obviously over!)). Not only that, but WVU's 1st Team Defense failed to stop PSU runners on a 3rd-&-10, 3rd-&-7, 4th-&-2 and 2nd-&-Goal from 6 yard line - whose fault is that but the WVU 1st Team Defense???
Exactly.

Silly comment. I know many others agree, tho.

It is why so many otherwise nice people have so much trouble processing current events in any category whatsoever.

Case on point: This writer is a jerk trying to agitate. It worked. They got a whole editorial room filled with assholes like that, in every category.
I respect that, but we are all entitled to our opinions.

Yep, 100% on Brown…if he doesn’t keep calling timeouts, the clock runs out and no extra TD. If WVU fans have a problem with it, they need to direct their anger at their coach.

WVU was "running down the score" That is, keeping their starters in to rack up points against the opponents second string. I have no problem with that, but dislike the WVU coach being a hypo and crying about an extra PSU score.

At some point you concede the game and let your backups play too, but if you don’t, then be prepared to play until the final whistle and take what comes from it.

How quickly everyone forgets the Iowa debacle where we had a qb in who had been given literally no opportunity to acquire legit playing time. We need the 2nd string qb to get time and to play like it is the real deal. I got no problem with scoring late to let the 2nd stringers learn.

Joe's old approach of taking a knee didnt do PSU any favors in 1994. If the other team don't like it, stop it. It is okay when MSU plays the old awe shucks happy story with an o line man scoring in garbage time, so I say play until the last whistle.
I still have beef w my best friend since 2nd grade over that MSU TD. I say F their Coach and culture. He says it is in the past. It is the way it is. Until one if our linemen score against them we aren't even. Don't care if D'Antonio is gone...next man up. Anymore in college football there is no high ground. # drain the swamp? It is impossible.

CJF was merely trying to run the clock out without giving the ball back to WVU - he was not attempting to add to the score as evidenced by the fact that CJF elected not to kick the FG on 4th-&-2 from WVU 12 with 2:05 remaining and a stopped Game Clock - WVU called TO. CJF didn't elect to add points - he elected to try and keep possession - PSU converted the 4th and 2. PSU then ran two running plays snapped close to the Play Clock expiring with a running Game Clock - scoring on the 2nd Down run from 6 yards out (the 1st Down play was snapped with like 1:10 to go as Play Clock was below 5 seconds - the 2nd Down play where Pribula scored was snapped with 6 or 7 seconds to go as the Play Clock was expiring.). Complete and utter nonsense that PSU did anything except to run the minimum plays needed to run the Game Clock out as they snapped each play as the Play Clock was expiring. It is not CJF's fault that WVU choose to extend the game by at least 3 snaps and could not stop PSU on a 3rd-&-10, 3rd-&-7, 4th-&-2 or 2nd-&-Goal from 6 all of which were snapped just before the Play Clock expired running as few plays as possible to run the Game Clock out. Utterly beyond ridiculous to claim PSU did anything except attempt to run the Game Clock out running as few very basic plays as possible.

If the writer knew anything about college football, he would know it wasn’t about gambling, it’s about building a playoff resume. Close games against middle of the road teams does not look good on a resume and will haunt you.
Don’t we know Remember 94

Franklin pulled his starters. Brown did NOT. So WVU scored and went for 2. Franklin continued to substitute on offense. Yet Brown used his timeouts to prolong a game that would have ended without further scoring. 🤔
Frankly, under those circumstances PSU should have gone for a 2 point conversion.

Considering all the circumstances already discussed, I have no problem with the conservative play-calling at the end leading to the score, and considering the 10 points we left on the field, the score ended up about where it should have been anyway.
