Hall will be fine, he just wrestled a stupid match. He got caught up in the moment and was trying to hit something sneaky. Should of kept some space and worked from outside. Joseph needs a better gas tank and needs some technique from top, he wants to muscle kids like he did in high school. MM will not be AA, just can't score enough.Tries to score from counters, doesn't work in college. Suriano will be good tournament wrestler, big motor and doesn't get out of position. Gulibon would sure be better off at 133. Come tournament time, Nolf and Retherford will be champs. Nickel will score a ton of points and hopefully catch Dean in something crazy on a scramble. Team title will be 3 team race PSU ,Ok St.and be careful of Ohio St.
I-Mar has made a living off of scoring off counters and impenetrable defense. MyMart is exclusively a "counter" wrestler - backs up continuously more than any wrestler since that guy from Okie State... However, this bull$hit would never float in Free and ONLY works in Folk, but is supposed to be penalized (i.e., if a wrestler is not carrying 50% of the attacks - especially lower leg attacks - while the other wrestler is constantly attacking, the other wrestler is supposed to be rung-up for stalling). Mouse's problem is not that he looks to counter - it's that he is not super active offensively, especially if his opponent is content to just dance around in tie-ups, but even when he does shot, it is almost always to the lower-leg and ankle area where he quickly gets stuck and neutralized due to his lack of length at 97 (opponent typically immediately engages a scramble by going over the top for an ankle-grab).
In any event, you can't just declare the problem to be that MM doesn't have a varied enough attack from neutral.....that's what separates the "elite" wrestlers from everybody else, especially in Free (i.e., they can take you to the mat in any number of ways - i.e., incredible offensive wrestlers from neutral, but are still incredible defensive wrestlers and don't give up a lot despite being extremely dangerous offensively). IMHO, Mouse is never going to be a dominating wrestler because he is a "grinder" and needs to keep it close and hope it comes down to the 3rd period, which is what makes engaging in "scrambles" in the 2nd period like he did extremely dangerous even though he was leading 3-1 at the time and in great position to win the match. He exposed his own back by engaging in the scramble the way he did and it was a bad decision given the amount of length he typically gives up.....he should have abandoned the ankle and sought the safety of bellying out rather than risk everything as he did.
