When I posted that as a reply, I was told you can’t make that statement without being an ex football coach coach or really understanding x’s and o’s. I am neither, but I have been a faithful fan since I am matriculated in January 1961. Have not missed more than a handfull of games in 57 yrs. Rip Engel was the coach, Roger Kochman(sp?) and Dave Robinson were our stars. Still remember Robinsons incredible play in the Grape fruit bowl. Have always loved Joe Pa and believed he was a great man (Which has gotten me in more fights than I can name), but his relativity as a great football coach ended 10 years before his career. He did have a couple good teams in the interim, but the West Coast offense and the speed and the athleticism of the SEC became paramount. Joe was always 3 yards and a cloud of dust, boring. Moorehead was a revelation. I believe he is truly a visionary coach. I firmly believe that coaching mistakes have created our last five losses. And yes, Moorehead was involved with three of them. Rahne has taken the worst of Moorhead and has tried to copy the best. There is no explaining away the last 2 loses. We are a better football team than MSU. we were out coached. Tommy Stevens, our secret weapon never sees the field in either game. The one game he played in,the 2 plays drawn up for him could they have been less imaginative? Where was Shorter or some of the other stud WRs. No question not McSorleys best day, but we have a significantly better team, with better depth than MSU. CJF talks of being an ELITE TEAM. YOU NEED ELITE COACHS!!!
