Room for Watkins next year’s hoops team....

This may be the scholarship move that clears the way for Mike to be back. I know all the detractors will be smirking at this but if Lamar and Mike are back the pieces will be in place. And I’ll go on record for the first time that if that happens and Pat doesn’t make the big tourney then he shouldn’t and probably won’t be back.

The incoming recruit from North Carolina has been granted his release from letter of intent. There is the opening.

McKoy just signed with Tony Bennett and UVA. So much for the theory that he decommitted from Penn State to stay close to home and play for NC State.

He was offered late by NC State, UNC and the defending national champion UVA. It's a good thing that Chambers can identify talent that much before some other coaches. It's a bad thing that we signed that good talent and couldn't keep him.

Not knowing if there are any particulars vav the Basketball Recruiting logistics that might be relevant....

Any BB recruiting afficianados who could lay out what woulda' happened if PSU/Chambers just said: "A deal's a deal. You signed on with us, and we are gonna' hold you to it" (to the degree they could).

How does that work out? What would have likely transpired there?

Realistically speaking its the same way in football when kids want to leave and go to a certain school and the school blocks it. You get that negative PR hit and coaches can/will use it against you. Some coaches can take the hit ... Pat clearly can't.

Kid sits a year and loses one year of eligibility.

Not sure what forcing him to stay gets you other than a very unhappy kid on a team with what 15 kids on the roster. Would be a difficult situation.
