Scarlet Knights coming off a B1G win against Illinois. But this is obviously a bad match up for RU.

125- PSU - 3
133- RU- 4 without Cortez
141- RU- 4
149- PSU- 3
157- PSU- 5
165- PSU- 4
174- RU- 3
184- PSU- 3
197- PSU- 4
285-PSU- 6

very optimistic Penn State 28 Rutgers 11

Rutgers is only going to give up 11 between 49, 57 & 84? Yeah, I'd say that's pretty optimistic.

125 psu dec, 3-0
133 rut md, 3-4 (any word on Cortez?)
141 rut dec, 3-7
149 psu fall, 9-7 (theobald has been pinned by Oliver this year)
157 psu tf, 14-7
165 psu md, 19-7
174 psu dec, 22-7
184 psu md, 26-7
197 psu dec, 29-7
Heavy psu fall, 35-7

Yeah Gravina is no joke. I watched him beat Renda this year pretty good. He also had a close match with Dean for two periods, until Dean started tilting him in the 3rd period. I would be surprised if Bo can major him. Should be a competitive match.

Suriano md paetzell 4-0
Cortez dec Delvecchio 7-0
Ashnault dec Guilibon 7-3
Zain pin Theobold 13-3
Nolf pin Van Brill 19-3
Joseph md Scott 23-3
Morelli dec Bakuckus 26-3
Nickal dec Gravina 29-3
Cutch tech Correnti 34-3
Nevills pin Gross 40-3

Best match of night will be Nickal/Gravina. Gravina doesn't quit and tough as nails. I can't see Bo losing but he will have a game opponent. 197/285 really week for Rutgers. If Cutch is ever going to dominate someone, Correnti is the guy

Wait a minute, didn't Gravina just lose to Parker from Ill-noise?

It's a Friday night match and my guess is they will be b fresh which means sharp and brutal.

Rutgers will most likely be game, but most likely there will b an abundance of bonus points scored by the blue and white.

Parker from Illinois defeated Gravina 8-6 in SV on Friday.

Not for nothing, but Parker is a "second 10" type guy - think he's ranked mid-teens depending on service. IOW, he's probably going to be a qualifier at Nationals, but would be a floor-mat candidate for Bo. He's also ranked 5 spots or so behind Gravina, so Gravina losing to him doesn't suggest to me that he'll be taking Bo to the wire....

Gentlemen, We appear to have a reasonable Rutgers fan here, you know he's a wrestling fan and not an RU football kook, so could we please be respectful? The cruiseliner post is one poop too far...oops. Optimism is the perfect word for this prediction, good luck RUwrestling.

if you've watched Gravina as much as I have you'd understand. Kid has a ton of heart and strong as an ox. You're looking at it solely based on rankings which i understand though.

By the way he was tied with Dean going into 3rd period until Dean turned it into a tilt fest

I'm saying Bo wins but I guarantee Gravina puts up a much harder fight then Dudley did

Theobold gave up a tech to Jeffries and a fall to Oliver at Midlands. I think Zain gets bonus. I could see a decision for Bo, but hoping for the major.

What are you basing this on?

Theobold kept it to a decision at the NLO last year.

It took Zain awhile to figure him out on their feet in that match, IIRC. Once he did, he dominated. I wouldn't bet the farm on Theobold keeping it to a decision this time around.

Also, Gravina pounded McCutcheon pretty convincingly at Big Tens. He's a tough kid.

Theobold lost by dec. last season to Zain. Gravina has a much taller task but has a couple good wins over his career.

Good point about Theobold. However, Zain was distracted for half the match making sure Cenzo didn't bolt for the Rutgers team bus. Since that cruise liner has sailed, Zain will be more focused this time.

...lockers will be numbered and your name will go on the number you wore as a letterman...?
...I guess they will number the wrestling lockers according to the weight class you wrestled at as a Rutgers representative ... that's only 10 lockers!!! ... if they expanded it to be the weight you weighed at some point in your career they could expand the possibilities by at least 150...!!!

I read an article that named George Carpenter as our 133 pounder against Rutgers. I know the original plan was to give Triston Law a start there. I'm guessing Law struggled to make 133 (?). For what it's worth, I though Carpenter did a fantastic job against Minnesota.

This is the match I was remembering too. Physically mauled him.

The Nickal move last night is now tied for my "Favorite Wrestling Move of the Year". Remember (or wanna guess) the other?

And I happily missed the over/under pick in another thread. :):)
