Sammy Sasso shot

Hero is a good word. This is Tom Ryan at his best.

Never had a dislike for Ryan. He recruited a kid from our area when he was at Hofstra. I talked to the kids father and he said Ryan was a good guy. The word he used was genuine. The kid decided to go to a different university because of his degree/career choice.
My guess is when Sasso is done he will stay in a position at Ohio State or Club. Numerous coaches have put a Lehigh Valley kid on staff.
Snyder at Nebraska, Labriola at Rutgers. If you include Faith Christian and Wyoming in the area, their is going to be a lot of talent coming out after this year..

Fact: Ryan is an all time good guy.

Who occasionally will either publicly say something or post something that warrants making fun of. Especially considering he is a Buckeye. Thank God he didn't take the Pitt job. Despite Pitt not being much of a rival at anything other than Womens' Volleyball anymore i am afraid we would really make fun of him then.

Nice to see the kind comment from Mark Hall also. I am sure Sammy will get a huge and well-deserved standing ovation at the end of his last college match.

I'm hearing that Sammy wants to go home after he's done at Ohio State.

Best of luck, Sammy. Your drive can take you many places.

I really hope they honor him in some way at B1Gs even if he is not wrestling. He's been a great B1G champ over the years.

I got goosebumps in November, 2024 when hearing that Sammy took the mat, and every time this season after that when his name was mentioned. It is impossible for anyone to relate to his story, except for maybe a select few. It saddens me a little that we won't see him on the mat (wrestling) in Evanston, but somewhere along the line he should get a mention during the tournament. It would be fitting that fans get a chance to show their appreciation there and in Philly.

I had a chance to speak with Sammy personally at the CKLV tournament. I told him that a lot of Penn State fans were rooting for him to get back on his feet and start wrestling again. He really appreciated hearing that. Seems like a pretty decent guy. I sure wish him well with whatever he does next.

Missed this before ... but both perps have pled out.

The shooter was charged as an adult and took a plea deal about 3 weeks ago, with sentencing in April. The other perp took a deal earlier, and will remain in juvenile jail until she turns 21 (probably about 4 years).

Both sentences should have mandated at least one full practice in the Buckeye room.
