Scaramucci quotes Joe Pa

I respect his willingness to fight and support a good man even when it will be politically incorrect to do so.

It's not about political correctness. It's the fact that the "Mooch" is an immature
a$$ who taints everything with which he comes in contact. Having Trump and "Mooch"
laud Paterno will not help his reputation.

Nothing will help Joe's reputation. It is too far stained, and there are no honest enough journalists to help. So, Trump and Scaramucci are not helping Joe.

But their willingness to stand there and defend him is laudable. It would have been far easier to have bent to the political correctness of this insane world and condemned him.

He's quite good at deleting Twitter posts I've noticed. Certainly one who achieved 'Success With Honor'....

Fine. Can you give me some examples (outside of PSU message boards) where Mooch's quoting of Joe has had any positive real world results/responses?

Mooch is not one of us. He pulled that quote out of his ass to aid his chaos.

Absent Mooch's mouth, it is a very fine quote.

Oh good lord, he quoted Joe because he (rightly) admired him. That is the point. Good for him. His admiration of Joe, and the quote itself, are both spot on. But for this terrible saga, which has unfairly been made about Joe rather than Sandusky and The Second Mile, lots of people would be quoting Joe, and with good reason.

Forever, thanks to the BOT, any time anyone of national interest mentions Paterno's name, this will be the reaction.

Thanks, Mooch.

Glad we have some people who are not Kings, but true leaders.

Takes balls to say something positive about JoePa. Glad he is willing to speak to his beliefs.

Sort of Franco-like, except Franco deserves way, way more credit, because he was early and often and brave.

Mooch can quote Joe until the moon turns blue and that won't make him any less of a jerk than he is.

Quoting him makes no difference. Doing so in a way that is defending Joe/praising him definitely does.

If you don't see this, you're politics are simply getting in the way of your honesty.

In reading reports of Mooch's use of the Paterno quote, I see nowhere that he is defending or praising Paterno. And a "leader?" The only thing Mooch is good at leading is other people's money into his bank account, and he is very good at that.

And this has nothing to do with my politics, which were considerably to the right of the Mooch's until he did an abrupt about-face not all that long ago. I just happen to know Mooch a lot better than you do.

Well, it does not matter, because looks like Mooch is gone...

Yeah. Canned.

As I have been suggesting, he's a low-quality, low-character, low-honor individual who had no business quoting Joe.

Although my politics are considerable to the left of Art, this is something both he and I agree on. It really has nothing at all to do with our politics. I has to do with the character of men.

Yeah, but his character fits in quite well in the New Swamp.

This is the funniest stuff EVER !!!!!!!
NOT the Joe stuff (for those without understanding).

Some people think that Trump is a conservative. Barry Goldwater, Bill Buckley, and Jack Kemp are turning over in their graves.

One of the nicest things ever said about JVP by a non-Penn Stater in the last few years was said by Pitino.

Did everyone dismiss that? I didn't, and I think he's a cheating scumbag.

He's not a politician. That by default changes the discussion.

The other thing is there are plenty of high character people with good things to say about Paterno - see Phil Knight's speech at Joe's Memorial.

Or Brandon Short, Franco Harris, Mike Mauti, or any one of the hundreds of student athletes, and their families, Joe influenced in a positive way. But, no one cares - the narrative is written and people only want to support and share the narrative they support; and that is not a good one for Joe.

Everyone at the WH is a lightning rod for controversy - it just is what it is. Any and everything they say is going to be either praised as gospel or vilified. Doesn't help that the guy saying it removed all the negative stuff he said previously about his (former) new boss on twitter - hours before getting the press secretary gig. One thing to quote Joe - another to act like him. The former is easy.

Again, I don't see Mooch defending Joe. And in re-reading his presentation in which he uses the quote, it it's not a non-sequitur, it's pretty close.
