Football Ohio State defeats Penn State, 20-13

James Franklin says the timeline for Drew Allar this week will go all the way up to the game. Notes they'll have to get both Allar and Pribula reps this week, which would make it sound like Allar's injury at least currently isn't considered a long term injury.

Didn't see Omari Evens in the Wisky game. Anyone know if he is injured? Like to have his speed against the Buckeyes.

As expected and good news all in all. Even if Drew was a full go I doubt Franklin would want to admit it.

Apologies, my little one decided that he needed some one-on-one time during Franklin's presser... But to recap...we'll have a full trnascript later today.

- Believes Ohio State's defense has taken their game to another level this season.

- Thought Amin Vanover and Smith Vilbert both played well last week against Wisconsin. They'll need them to continue to play well this week

- Sounds like DDS injury isn't too major but like Allar, it will be an injruy that probably is a gametime decision.

- Ethan Grunkemeyer is coming along really well, a lot of potential excitement within the buildin about his potential.

- Both Donkoh and Rucci are expected to play this week.

- Thought Andy did a great job of calling Saturday's game to the strengths of Beau. The program likes what they've seen out of his devlopment.

STORIES:

Ohio State's fortunes ride on the O line. I am not optimistic.

Perhaps some good news for Penn State today with Drew Allar at practice. However, Dani Dennis-Sutton is not present.

Depending upon the nature of the injury, the recuperative powers of these young men can be quite considerable.

These guys are elite athletes and sometimes coaches are not being coy when they suggest that it is literally going to be a game time decision.

USC scored 30 on this defense with a healthy DDS. Ohio State quick passes to NFL quality receivers with YAC yards will probably score more. 34-24 Buckeyes.

Today:
- Team needs to overcome mental block and believe they can beat Ohio State.
- Absolutely minimize untimely/foolish penalties (late hits, inappropriate showboating, OPIs, DOIs, holding) Not expecting penalty free game but don't commit those that greatly benefit OSU.
- Play aggressively but under control.
--Stay within their responsibility and don't overrun plays on defense.
- OL protect, protect, protect PSU QBs
- WRs get separation, be solid in blocking assignments, and avoid drops.

Fans:
- Be in your seats early and set the atmosphere. Continuous noise disruption of OSU offense. Make the stadium shake.

FIGHT ON STATE!!!

I was philosophically conflicted last night. My son had a play-in game for flag football playoffs. If they won, they’re playing today at 1pm. They freaking won, so now I have to discreetly watch the game of the year from my phone at the flag football game!

No conflict at all LMT, go all in on your son's flag football game!

I Know I'm in the minority but I'd be much more focused on containing OSU's WRs than stopping the run. I'd play a lot of 2 safeties and focus on the DEs forcing things inside as much as sacking the QB.

Of course we have to mix things up with the blitz and go to press man coverage from time to time. Just not as often.
