Football Ohio State defeats Penn State, 20-13

He's always making excuses. The refs let both teams play. We primarily lost because of Wallace dropping an EASY TD then the play calling on the final drive.
Wallace didn't drop an easy TD pass. That would have been a tough catch but one you've got to make to beat a team like OSU.

Sadly, the real mystery of that game is how our supposedly dominant D Line got overpowered by an injury riddled, makeshift, rebuilt tOSU O line. Baffling.
I felt like it was another manifestation of our discipline issues. Guys seemed to be missing assignments, particularly on the edge of the line. Our edge guys were crashing towards the center of the line, and OSU just kept running outside for big yards.

We don’t seem to play as a team on defense, and it really shows up against top teams. We get away with it against most of our schedule, which creates bad habits.

I think they've been pretty much a disappointment. I think the more baffling thing was how our offensive line could not crease Ohio State at all today. At no point did we control the line of scrimmage on any series. I believe the longest run for Nick was seven and Allen with four. all they are a bunch of soft guys that cannot push anybody around. At this point I don't know why we are surprised about ineptitude all over the field in games like this
Penn State has been a finesse team ever since Franklin got here

Hey Einstein. Please explain all the choke jobs before NIL then.
You’re right Einstein, no one was paying players before NIL smh. Even without NIL have you seen our locker rooms/facilities compared to other big spending schools. Those shiny things look pretty good to 17 year old recruit and I don’t blame them.

I understand your logic - to a point - but the OL has been OSU's problem over the last 3 to 4 years. The OL - in CF - requires more development than any other position group.
The answer is we are soft on the lines. Flat out soft. OSU could have had all their backups in on the O-Line and they still dominate us. And the D-Line, how about just folding the last 5 minutes and incapable of stopping them. Pathetic.

He can't discipline the players? Other teams seem to manage to get a grasp on the BS and field competitive teams. You think Saban would put up with this? You think Kirby Smart does? No way.

This is all by Franklin's choice. He's undisciplined and soft, which his team directly reflects.

They don't have to put up with bad behavior because other incentives exist to make an elite player want to play for a Saban or a Smart or a Meyer. They have won championships.

College football is now the worst kind of professional football. All players in the league can dump their team and choose to play for the Kansas City Chiefs, if the Chiefs see an upgrade with that player. The Chiefs then also attract more capital to pay more to the players. It's football capitalism. The rich get the means to get richer.

The key will be in winning games that you were expected to lose, like a small company that gets a research breakthrough and suddenly attracts capital. That is definitely not the MO of James Franklin, at least not at Penn State.

Oh. Now is the facilities fault Franklin can't win a tough game. It couldn't possibly be that he sucks as a coach.

We are soft…PSU under Paterno was never perfect…but we were tougher than anyone!

How dare you? T Frank the official team apologist has already given the reason they folded like pu$$ies in the last five minutes: "they were gassed". Thanks T Frank!

Yep... And you would think after eleven years of james being here and his usual word salad garbage that he will self scout, and that it falls on him to fix, that he at least would have made adjustments to become more physical...from scheme to player size/build, but clearly he's stubborn and incapable.

Ok name an “elite” program that has less NIL and/or worse facilities than Penn State. I understand there is a disconnect because we pay him like an “elite” coach but we, meaning all of us, haven’t given him complete support. It’s just a reality of CFB today. If you can’t see the talent gap between PSU and Oregon or Georgia then I don’t know what to say. I do agree we should be able to pull more upsets and a lot of that I will blame Franklin for but firing him is not the silver bullet. Lots of people wanted Rhule, well his result versus OSU was similar and then they go out and lose to UCLA. I really think those calling for Franklin’s head should be careful for what they wish for.
