Limited to no upside but possesses a high enough floor that the sky won't fall if he needs to step in for either 10 or 13. Feels like a geographical Goldielocks situation in landing him, since 99 percent of dudes in the portal wouldn't step into a situation in which they have zero chance to up their carries.

Just goes to show you how wrong the know-it-all posters on this site are - they routinely claim that they "know" what this kids' decision-criteria are during recruitment (be it a transfer or high school recruit), but they DO NOT. What is important to each individual is subject to that individual and these people don't know what each person's criteria and rational are, no matter what they claim.
Only because the young man has generously decided to share his personal rationale - he doesn't have to do that.

Potts has had injuries. Increased carries might be a non issue to a player who has not been durable to increase his carries.
