I've said countless positive things. That doesn't even make sense. I think Allar can be elite, I think we have the best RB tandem in college football, i think 2022 was a great season getting us back to where we need to be, I think our hockey program has the potential to be elite and had a great run, I think we had a great basketball coach hire, I've said countless times people are too worried about the basketball roster currently and we'll be fine because of the portal, the list is just never-ending but you focus on stuff like me pointing out 10-2 was meeting expectations (realistic not pessimistic and actually just facts) or that adding a 3rd RB is meh (also not negative)

10-2 was absolutely meeting expectations especially with our schedule. Actually winning every game you should is impressive which is what we did. I said 10-2 literally all season and the only game I complained about all year was the Purdue game when people tried to say Purdue had a QB that would be taken in the top 2 rounds.
I never discussed Swift here but are you pretending Swift wasn't a great back or that anyone that picks another school can be as good? This is a great example of what I mean by realist. I will say now and throughout the season I'm not trading those 2 for any other tandem. Especially with them being back for 2024.

All of the Preseason Magazine's projected PSU to lose 4 or 5 games..... they were unranked in the Preseason AP Poll..... The pre-season O/U Line for number of games they would win at Sportsbooks was 7.5 I believe.

Auburn was a toss up because we were still coming off '21 and Purdue, while a comeback victory, didn't instill any "this team can whoop butt" MOJO.
The biggest problem here is that you have such extremes. Peggy Pigeon predicted 7-5 or worse and bid us to lose every week nearly and then restructured his argument into the schedule was weak. You can't hang on both sides of the fence unless you are a Franklin hater.
The schedule is what it is and outside of the West producing at least 1 great team (and us playing them), our schedule is perpetually going to be weak (as is damn near everybody else). Unless your OOC hits, they are all the same. We can't help Auburn sucked, but at least we thrashed them. The Buckeyes played a lame ND and Michigan played nobody.
Next year is the same. Recruiting alone says 10-2 is winning vs who we are favored and losing to whom we are the underdog. Everything is subject to Allar, how the OL does vs the primary 2, and how the defense adjusts with key losses and year 2 under Diaz. The OOC is likely lesser. Iowa should have an improved offense (which isn't saying much), but the defense will also be weaker (I don't think they replace Campbell, the DL projected top 50, and secondary guys and play as good).
We shall see how it goes.
This is fair. I still maintain Harsin is garbage and I was never worried about Auburn even after last year. Still impressed we embarrassed them.
And yes next year 10-2 is again the expectation. Allar is the key but with our run game and the D he shouldn't have to win games on his own.

I've admitted I was wrong countless times. Starting with Franklin's success last year. I would have fired him after 2021 and he proved that would have been premature on my part. I would have told Clifford to leave after 2021 and I would have been wrong for that as well.
