He's had an incredible tourney so far--beating Sorenson and Tshirt. I like to follow regional schools, but I can't say I know much about him. What does he do well, what does he not do well?

I get that we're all thinking the Zain Train rolls here, but I'm curious what you all know.

33-3 on the year. 2 of his 3 losses were pins. No wins against top guys until his impressive tourney run.

Thank you wrestlestat

He seems to have been flying under the radar until this year's NCAAs. Below is his wrestle stat profile. He has successive wins (albeit close ones) over Sorensen, Tsirtsis and Kolozdzik in this tournament, so obviously he is on a roll and is no slouch. No other wins of note this year or previous years, however, so ... something in the water?

He's the lone outlier in this year's finals. A Cinderella story so far. Hoping he is about to lose his slipper.

What do those 3 victims have in common? Defense first.

Zain attacks.

Here he is giving up two to non-qualifier Jacob Macalolooy of Columbia. Incredible run.

Go to the BWI previews final thread. Zain talks about Lock Haven's team training freestyle with them in the PSU room this year and said he wrestled Perry in practice a few times.

SIAP. Found a "getting to know Ronnie Perry" article on themat.com from last year with this intro:

As a junior, Perry won his first EWL title and advanced to the NCAA tournament for the second time in his career. His 29-8 record included 15 tech-falls and 20 bonus point victories overall. After losing to a pair of seeded wrestlers at the NCAA tournament, including second seed Kevin Jack (NC State), Perry will return for his senior season looking to earn a seed himself and end his career on the podium.
