Thank goodness that match will happen in the finals. Rumor west of the Mississippi is wrestling Smith early in a tournament wears a guy out to the point of several days of exhaustion.

A couple more interesting weights:

141
1. Kaden Gfeller- Oklahoma State
2. Tariq Wilson- North Carolina State
3. Real Woods- Stanford
4. Kyle Shoop- Lock Haven
5. Cole Matthews- Pittsburgh

149 - Andrew Alirez is the 5 seed -- that bracket might get busted.

184
1. Trent Hidlay - North Carolina State
2. Lou Deprez - Binghamton
3. Nino Bonaccorsi - Pittsburgh

197
1. Dakota Geer - Oklahoma State

Based on what I've seen (not that much, but that's me) I'm guessing Starocci exceeds his pre-seed. Thoughts?

Last time they wrestled Joe teched Griffith for a Fargo Title.
True, with the caveats that it was 4 years ago, with freestyle exposures that would not have scored in folk.

If he gets 3 takedowns again, he could win. And that would be a very good win, because Griffith looked good last year while shirting and looks like a very likely All-American this year.

I think Starocci makes the finals. He looks like he is going to be an absolute stud. The same with Joe Lee. His ceiling is as high or higher than his brother’s. We have a lot of crazy talent waiting to get on the mat.

Just excited for all three. They get to experience an NCAA-like tournament (bracketed, double-elimination), and win or lose, will learn a lot about themselves. It's one of those situations they should embrace, wrestle relaxed, but with high energy and effort … and let the chips (winning or losing) fall where they may.

The knew murders row circa 2020, Lee, Starocci , Brooks , Beard and either snacks or kerkvliet .

FIFY

The new murders row circa 2021; N. Lee (149?), Berge, J. Lee/Manville, Starocci , Brooks , Beard and either snacks or Kerkvliet

Don't count Mason out just yet

Based off of the entrants in track wrestling (don't know how accurate they are, especially since Air Force and Stanford have pre-seeded kids but none listed as registered). Here's to Joe, Carter and Beard all winning the Scuffle! Last time we had a bunch of redshirts at the Scuffle, Cael asked Pyles if he had a plan.
Hey...had Cael listened to Pyles' advice, you guys might be looking at your tenth straight national title this year! o_O

Pretty good draws. Looks like a possible R16 match against Reenan for Beard? Trying to figure it out on my phone, pain in the neck.
Interesting probable R32 match between Joe Lee (who has a R64 match) and Finger Lakes/Cornell greyshirt Julian Ramirez (who has a R64 bye).

Edit: 165 redrawn, so this match won't happen (Lee no longer has a R64 match).
