With this, his pending depo in the Paterno matter, and the various other matters looming over his head, it appears that Louis Freeh has become the Jerry Sandusky of Pepper Hamilton--a person whose toxicity makes his very name a source of revulsion.
Our BoT has never for a moment criticized Louis Freeh. It is one of many things that single out our Board as special. Everyone who deals with this guy, friend or foe, eventually ends up hating him, except the OG BoT and their buddy, CR.
This is the guy they chose to do the most sensitive investigative work in the history of the University they were sworn to protect. This is the guy they paid all that money to. What, less than 2 years ago his firm MERGED WITH PH, and now he is "going back" to Freeh Sporkin Sullivan? I do not understand how there can even be a Freeh Sporkin Sullivan, but I guess they can't buy your actual name. I am sure PH won't be using those names The Sullivans are leaving PH also.
The old corporate auditor in me suspects there is another shoe yet to drop. Something else, something big that Louie f'ed up. This indictment of the Wilmington Trust is certainly concerning since Louie was on the Board, but as we have seen in our own case, it is hard to make these corporate swells own what they condoned.
I think after we wait a while we will see why this happened.
