SIAP- Urbans letter to OSU nation.............

With the scrutiny he is under, its hard to believe he would claim he followed proper protocols if he can't back it up.

Yes, he definitely lied at media days. Unquestionably. With new statement, Urbs has now pulled at least one more senior administrator into the dirt with him.

So, is it another lie? Did the more senior person(s) say you have to keep wife beater (and Urbs was content with that?)? Shouldn’t Urban have said “I’ve warned him once already (in ‘09), get wife beater out of here?

Did more senior person defer to Urban on the fire or keep decision?

Something smellls really off in all scenarios.

At any rate, he is “all-in” with his ‘story.’ It will crumble and hang him, or stick and hang probably himself and others now. The current info doesn’t allow for Zach Smith being on the staff from 2015 fwd.

"Here is the truth..."

Are we to expect this heads up every time he plans on telling the truth from here out? Sort of like Tosu's version of the Good Housekeeping Seal?

Who plays Urban in the HBO film? Jon Lovitz?

How about the timing on this dumbsh#% letter? Friday night? Lolololol. Keep playing the right angles you sleaze. Whatever respect I had left for this guy before this Zach Smith incident is gone. Moron harbouring a wife choker outer. Cause apparently he didn’t hit her. It’s all the wife’s fault anyway. Right? Jfc.

Urban wasn't "adequately prepared" for media questions about Zach Smith last Tuesday? Urban lied because he wasn't "adequately prepared"?

What the hell did he think they were going to ask?!?!?!?!?!?!

He fired Zach Smith Monday night! OF COURSE they are going to ask about that!

"Telling the truth" appears to be something that is a challenge for Urban Meyer.to
I like the idea that to tell the truth is something you must be "adequately prepared" for, but baldfaced, facile, time-traveling lies pop right off the top of your head.

I was reading Wetzel's article and continued down to the comments...One guy made a great point, if Urban did report it in 2015, what is the need for the commission and Urban being put on paid Admin leave?

Definitely wasnt smart to have kept Smith on the staff, but if it was reported and the school knew and the police knew and he was never charged, what is Urban to do?

TBH, with the 2 incidents it doesn't seem all that different than how Joe followed protocol. Maybe I am wrong, but I don't see it.

Aw man I hadn’t thought of it like that. Also, there probably wasn’t a coach available in the country who would have wanted a job at Florida or Ohio State who hasn’t beaten their pregnant wife. With such a small hiring pool what is Urban to do but continue to employ a wife beater? And he did the right thing and let his boss know too. What a guy.

Here's one report that is confusing and surprised that not much has been talked about. What happened that they changed the original report

On the original Oct. 26, 2015 Powell Police report, a box on the form was checked indicating Zach had been arrested. However, nearly three years later – after I reported the incident last week – the Powell Police released a revised version of the report to the media and the arrest box was no longer checked.

“The terminology used by the Police Department was different in the original report (dated 10/26/2015) and inconsistent with what actually occurred,” said Megan Canavan, director of communication for the Powell Police Department.

Well, since I lived in Powell for 18 years until 10 months ago, I am not surprised by this.

The conspiracy theorist in me believes that OSU will magically find a report made by Urban in 2015....The commission will then rubber stamp Urban coming back....
On the positive side, at least Urban didn't throw his wife under the bus...
But shouldn’t his wife have to face the music at some point in this? Wasn’t she a mandatory reporter who didn’t report?

Urban survives. He reported what he knew.

If that’s true, then I can accept such an outcome. The obvious question then is, what happened at last week's press conference? Also, it’s still not a good look for urban to have had smith on his staff at two schools over so many years.

And if he told what he knew, why not just say that at the press conference? Which university employee will be thrown under the bus to protect Urban? Yes, he reported it to __________, that person dropped the ball. Urban did everything right.

If Urban reported to the university, I’m guessing she did as well, or his report covered them both.

That is what is going to trip him up. He reported it but lied about it when asked direct questions about it. Maybe Urban skates with a hand slap, but coaches (Dantonio) are going to use his dishonesty for years to negatively recruit the guy.

So wtf happened between 2015 and last week? Urban opened a can of worms w his statement.

Well the charge of violating a protective order was new. So they’ll just argue that violation was what led to it, but the previous incidents didn’t because they were told police didn’t move forward with charges.

Good thing for the Bucs he was placed on admin. leave right before the recruiting dead period.

You’re ok with Urban keeping someone he knew was beating his wife on the staff because he reported it and no one had the sense to say fire him?

Well, if he reported it there has to be a report in writing somewhere, right? Where is the written report?

Except we all know a criminal trespass charge for a guy just dropping off his kids wouldn't get anyone in the world fired w/o some deeper back story.
