So, Big Ten apologists...

What say you? Your boys once again tried to steal a game from Penn State. Even with replay. Unbelievable.
I would agree. I think it’s time to start looking at the ACC. We are far enough away from Sandusky that we bring a tremendous amount of value to a conference with both football tv revenue and academic prestige. We would severely damage the B1G by leaving. It was very evident that conference officiating will do anything to protect the old guard of this old conference. Let’s align with the eastern states of Virginia, the Carolinas, and Florida. And perhaps take Maryland with us back to their old conference as I think there is value in keeping a contiguous eastern footprint. Prior to tonight I was slightly in favor of staying in the B1G but this game was my own last straw. And pulling the targeting penalty does little to placate me when the rest of the game was so blatantly tilted toward helping Iowa. I am positive that O’Neils group only pulled the targeting call to try to placate us to avoid a fire storm that could be coming to them this week.

Yeah, and while we're at it, let's bring Rutgers, too!

All kidding aside, I'm sure even the ACC doesn't want Rutgers.

I feel ya, but it is a little more complex than that.

I am sure it’s very complex but It is doable and perhaps the Mere threat of it will cause this conference to change their ways. In the end, dollars always win. And there’s nobody in the nation outside of maybe ND that could replace us financially if we left. There was a belief at one time that Texas would come north, but that’s never happening particularly if we left.

I understand the frustration with the B1G. I never wanted to be part of it but at this juncture, I don't think we are going anywhere. Way too much money and prestige along with academic recognition. Good, big schools with plenty of research money, etc.
On the other hand, I would much prefer to play games in Charlottesville, Chapel Hill, Durham, Greenville, Miami, Pittsburgh and Boston, among others. You can keep South Bend, though.

I get the frustration too, though I think we fit best in the B1G regardless. Besides, people bitch about our schedule now. Imagine playing in the ACC Coastal. I suppose if you want a cakewalk to the division title...

And there’s no way in hell we’re giving up B1G money to go to the ACC. We don’t have enough as it is.

The greatest way to shit on B1G is to leave, take Maryland with us but let them keep Rutgres

I was neutral in my feelings before the Iowa game. Not anymore. Piss on the Big 2. Time to join the ACC and deal with whatever money will be lost by leaving this conference.

Why do we even have conference-affiliated crews? Why not national crews, or at least regional crews not affiliated with specific conferences? Tougher to grow attached to certain teams when you don't see them all the time, imo. Their on-field justice needs to be blind, and their job done for the enjoyment of the game and the excitement around it.

Some of those folks in stripes need to be humbled by doing a few Group of 5 games on chilly Wednesday or Thursday nights.

The time to leave was in 2012 when they confiscated our bowl money and gave it to the other schools.

We could have just walked away and fought it out in court as to whether we owed them anything or if they had basically breached membership agreement.

But now we can do very little. I think they were kind of trying to appease us, sort of, when they invited Maryland and Rutgers. I often wonder if we were actively thinking of leaving the conference at that point.

I don't think it would make any sense to leave now. And actually I think the ACC would be worse in many ways.

We would beat up on Duke, Wake, Pitt, etc. and get screwed vs. Clemson.

I think it would actually be a huge step down now that FSU, VT and Miami have become also-rans

Nobody apologized you big dummy. B10 is more lucrative and we like money. Let us know when you ACC suck ups find an acc crew that will kiss your ass.

Google "NC State Karl Hess Jamie Luckie" and tell me the ACC would be any better.

Cutting our TV revenues in half to be Billy Yanks in Dixieland ain't the answer. Sandy and Barron need to decide that Franklin and football are worth fighting for and fix this in the Big Ten. Or, Franklin will go work for someone who will

Sure, doable. $330mm worth of doable, the amount of incremental income that PSU would have to bring to the ACC for PSU to break even (as a point of reference, the entire Big 12 earns just north of $370mm). Oh, and there is this minor matter of a GoR that runs out til 2032.

See what the Big Ten would be worth without Penn State. And some things mean more than money, you vapid POS.

Not a bad idea, but no conference is going to concede that power to the NCAA.

Not that difficult to fix this, but you have to have an AD that is cognizant of the problems and is willing to work to fix it (it won't happen with a snap of the fingers which seems to be the length of Barbour's attention span).
