Kid is def a physical freak but we seen some freaks in past that didn't pan out. Hopefully he can learn quickly and dominate.

Cameron Wake is probably the most interesting example.

Made a few spectacular plays (blocked kicks, etc.) at PSU, but very inconsistent, didn't make the NFL off the bat.

Tore up the CFL and went on to an excellent career in the NFL with 5 Pro Bowls and 92 sacks.

Who was the LB that had an enzyme deficiency, in the early to mid 2000s?

You are implying here that Simmons is done for the year, why else would he be need 'because it doesn't look good for Simmons'.

I got a newsflash for you... our players do not comment on their injury status because they are not permitted to. The coaching staff knows what they have in Simmons, so they really don't need to play him right now, they are using his 'absence' to evaluate the younger DEs so they know what they are capable of during game time so IF needed later in the season, they know who is ready to go. IF we had a stronger opponent weeks 1-3 we most likely would have seen Shane by now... we haven't needed him. I think there is a 75% chance we see him at some point on Friday.
What they have is a young man in a walking boot, 4 games deep into the season. Now, I got a newsflash for YOU. It takes a long time to get out of a walking boot, and then more time to get ready to play, and if a player comes back 10 games into the season, it doesn't make any sense to run him out there at that point. You heal the kid up and go 100% for next season.

Amazing how slim the guy is for a D-lineman
(this pic goes back to his commitment, but he looked similar wearing #28 vs Kent St)
Shame we missed out on this guy's recruitment. He'd have been pretty good coming off the edge too. Slim is relative. Speed is deadly.

Yeah, if Simmons is cleared to play by the medical staff and is a full go in practice for that week, Franklin is going to play him. It's that simple. How much and in what situations are the only questions.

Of course you do, if he's been cleared and ready to go. He's already redshirted. What are you saving him for?

Simmons has tweeted 'Soon' and ':)'... what do you think he means? 'I'm done for the season, see you next year, I'm taking a medical redshirt'...
