So how likely is it that Tan Tom actually allows BoJo to go against Z?

Devil's Advocate:

Hayes -- Was competing for 141 spot just a short while ago. Bumping up to 149, he could have tank issues until he's adjusted to the weight.

M. Jordan -- Knee was heavily taped. How long has he been hurt, and has it impacted his time training/conditioning?

I hear you. Micah generally has a knee pretty well taped. Wonder whether it’s always been wonky.

Good point re: Hayes

On a side note, Hayes and M Jordan better gird their loins or the Bucke Pin Chain may be snatched by Nolf and/or Zain after their bouts. Hayes looks spindly (and we saw Zain almost murder Maruca last year) and Jordan better get his energy level up - he looked like crap after he shot his wad in the 1st.

Campbell and Cenzo becomes very important in the dual. I like Campbell, but some of his blowout of Valencia may be due to motivation issues - we’ve seen that before with AV. Still, a pretty shocking result
After spending a week wrestling Cunningham, Hall or Nolf with the entire squad giving him the business about Campbell is coming for him, Campbell is gonna step into Rec Hall and Subjeck him. Cenzo probably will be properly motivated and prepared.

Jordan on bottom "wrestled" as if his knee were heavily taped to the mat.

Zahid was undefeated and the favorite last year in March for a reason. He is that good and always has been. Mark is gonna have his hands full defending his crown. Gonna be one heck of an NCAA bout!
I just wish there would be a formula for Mark to follow, to pull ahead of Zahid. Hit the weights hard? The duck under (when behind)? What? He needs a Mark-specific secret instruction. Fake spyker, here is your chance to make your legacy! Step out from under the other guy's shadow! :)

Cael simply needs to pull out the 3 inch folder and get creative...

3 inches of you know who with you know what, of course.

Absolutely agree. I had to turn the sound off. "We are the greatest country in the world.......on paper" "Sorry...I missed that....had my head down" Unless he is getting paid by the word.....no excuse for the blabbering. Filled every second of air time talking.....but rarely about the match.

I thought it odd when he said Bo is doing the best he can with the
hand he was dealt.

Didn't he deal the family hand to himself?

Well.....he is away from home a lot. If his wife can hula-hoop......I'll take Cropduster yo Daddy for 1,000 Alex................pending photo :)

Bust on him all you want. Yeah, it's true he's where he is because of his choices, but Bo has my admiration. Father, husband, student, and wrestler...and by all accounts he's holding it together. Inevitable that each affects the others, so it's likely, my opinion, that his wrestling will suffer. We'll just have to see how the season unfolds.

Roar, my take is that the criticism is of Bergman's "hand he was dealt" comment, which included the family piece (as though Bo was somehow a victim of it). Not a knock on Bo.

I literally asked myself the same question jack posed when I heard Bergman say that live.

Re: Campbell - I think THREE matches (physical wars) with IMar will have Cenzo prepped for Campbell.

Bergman either had 4 cups of coffee before that dual, or was doing whippits between each match.

With all due respect, Roar - because you're the most honorable poster on this forum ..

It's 2017. Not 1952. There's zero reason to have multiple kids, married, and still "stuck in college" ... wrestling, none the less.

I'll get flack for this post, but if I'm going to start a family, I'll be sure I'm financially stable to support my wife and children.

BoJo is an eye roll to me.

Got that, it was a bizarre thing to say.

Still admire the young man. He's a dad...far more important than this wrestling gig.

Everyone has the right to live their life. I won't judge.

Not sure what you're implying with the year thing...1952 and 2017. If I'm reading you right, you're being presumptive about my being in touch in today's world.

Taking care of a baby is more conducive to focus on the mat when it’s time to wrestle than sitting around a dorm room playing video games and goofing around on social media.

Pre-advent of birth control. No one deals you the hand - you deal it to yourself. Again, if his baby is now skipping the 2-4 am wake up, he’s likely getting way more sleep than most college kids.

For the record. I wasn't busting on Bo, I was busting on that blabbering idiot announcer.

Quentin Wright's wife was very pregnant when he beat Kilgore. (Maybe Matt Brown's wife when he beat Wilps? Not remembering as clearly.)

Ed Ruth had a child.

And Bergman had a built-in excuse for a championship caliber wrestler who probably doesn't want to hear it.

Yes....it is 2017. In today's world it is my opinion that any father who marries the mother.....supports and cares for his children.....while getting a degree is to be greatly admired. Add to that the fact that he is one of the best wrestlers in college and.....by all accounts.....a great young man and teammate......I would say that adds to the admiration. I am certain the announcer was trying to praise BoJo.......but....wow......major fail.

Since he kept saying he missed action because his head was down......I'll go with the whippits.

The Jordans are great young men, and I do not think anyone has really anything negative to say about them. But the excuse about having kids is terrible. I swear a month ago or so Tom Ryan himself in a FLO interview raved about Bo Jordan the difference from last year to this year cause he is injury free and is on the mat way more.

So now he gets beat by Zahid in dominant fashion and JD makes this ridiculous excuse about having kids. I do not know Bo Jordan, but i would bet he would make no silly excuse like that.

It reminds me so much of boxers. Before a fight in all the pre-fight interviews and what not you hear this and that and how confident they are. Saying how they are in great shape and had an awesome training camp. Then they lose the fight and you hear all the excuses come out. I can not stand it. Take your loss and work harder and get better. No excuses.

FWIW, my recollection was that Bergman raved about Bo and the "hand he was dealt" during his run to the mat through the early parts of the match, before it was clear he was not going to win it. It seemed to me that the comments were directed at criticisms made during the past year.

"Being very pregnant" is not having 2 small children.

Ed Ruth is / was an amazing wrestler, super friendly, great dude, but he also T-boned a curb at 2am w/ a 0.281 BAC.

Let's just say if I needed life advice,
Ed Ruth is not the first person I'm asking.

Re: BoJo - I just can't wrap my mind around being a 23 yr old man, having two kids, married, but not working to support my family.

Especially with all the academic support and opportunities to earn summer session credits and graduate early.

I don't get it. From my view, it looks very selfish, very self-centered. Having a family isn't cheap. Having 2 kids is freaking expensive !!
Take extra classes, earn your degree in the summer, and go work w/ your degree to support your family.

Once you have children, it's no longer about you - it's about your children.

Take your degree,
Get a job,
Support your family.

Unless if he's taking handouts from his Congressman uncle - that just makes his story all the more lame.

Go Bo. Whatever.

I am sorry......but I believe the path he is on is a far better way to support his family's future. Getting his degree and being a quality wrestler who greatly helped his team win a National Championship and may ( hopefully not ) do it again this year guarantees him and his family a far brighter future than...."Get a job" now would do. It is my opinion but I am pretty certain this is true. I say....good for him.....hope his team finishes a strong second......gets a great job thanks to his OSU degree and connections and lives happily ever after. The end :)

LOL, me too! Gawd that was funny. Like he made it out of the slums of Early Fatherhood with the grit and determination of a proposal and a few ejaculations.

How exactly does helping his team win another championship guarantee a "far brighter future"? Seems completely irrelevant in the grand scheme to me to win a second team title.

Come on guys, lighten up a bit.
Let's all remember 'long bus ride", average official ", "flu", from the beach with a still picture and a "always a takedown", "yeah, we aren'the the best football team in our conference, but you know we deserve a playoff spot"

JD is a Buckeye, a nut of nature. Some schools require a foreign language to get a degree, at Ohio St a degree requirement is excuse making. JD is just being a Buckeye and putting his Ohio State education to use. Ohio State is where the world goes for an excuse.

Nah, no, it was like 7-2 at the time, and Bergman's word salad had not such

I think mostly he was just over-enthused to have an audience. Treated it a bit like a pulpit, struggled with an internal filter. That's gonna be one I'll remember for awhile tho, so funny. "Done well with the hand he was dealt" LOL

Regardless of whoever any team puts on the mic, the real story--and win for the fans--is these teams having brokered something with CBS' CollegeSportsLive that gives us the video streams for FREE!

Nah, no, it was like 7-2 at the time . . .

Thanks for verifying -- I must have lost track of where all the family-man comments were inserted. I do distinctly remember him raving about Bo during his run to the mat, though.

Whoops, I thought I'd deleted that part of the comment. I think that was my first post ever with proper use of the Quote multiple comments feature. Of course it was by accident, emoji. But yeah, I think that was the score. Zahid had also only had 2 TDs when Bergman was going on about BoJo being known for his leg defense. I definitely remember two additional TDs after that comment.

You seriously have never read of a hometown athlete who stays in town and has a multitude of great job opportunities offered by the local community? A recognizable face and name are always sought out by the business community. More success = better opportunities. This year's championships are being held in Ohio.....greater exposure for Ohioans only helps. Winning a championship in Cleveland would really get the coverage. Seems pretty obvious to me. To be more clear.....I responded to a post suggesting he should have got his degree over the summer and quit wrestling. How can wrestling in Ohio for the National Championship not improve his name recognition....ie... "Brand".....especially if they win ( really hoping they don't ). Also......my statement of "a far brighter future"....included getting his degree and being a quality wrestler......not just winning a TEAM championship.

Nickal has just about as many likes for a tweet about a big leaf as Tom does for this.

I am a big Bo fan........I also think this was a good interview with Ryan.....talked about each wrestler and what he liked about them. Cool Interview. I still hope they finish second though :).

I liked the interview.
It would be nice to know who all sent their signed LOI in to PSU.
