3 biggest takeaways:
1. Darmstadt moved up to 197 and went 5-0, including a win over Sloan and a pin over Koelling.
2. Steveson is, in fact, wrestling for the Goofers.
3. Doyle Trout is still wrestling for Wyoming -- I'm sure he'd like better results, but how many guys would stick with it after having a leg amputated?

I still think they should try to move this event to the end of January and work back in the national duals championship with it.

There is only so much talent and between this, cklv, Midlands, scuffle, wilkes open there just isnt enough fun to go around.

What happened w Hoffman and Brayton Lee DQ?
I didn't see it, but here is the description from the Lehigh press release:

Lehigh picked up six points at 149 as sophomore Jimmy Hoffman won by disqualification over Brayton Lee. Hoffman suffered an injury to his leg that was the result of an illegal hold as Lee was bidding for a takedown. Because Hoffman was not able to finish the bout due to the injury sustained via illegal hold, he was awarded the victory by disqualification.

Darmstadt's description of that pin that occurred from neutral in the first period (and which was crazy to watch in real time):

Remember, Darmstadt is 6-5. He’s so tall that he gets in a stance and he’s an easy target to get cradled with his head near a knee.

“I kind of get cradled a lot,” he said. “I’ve been defending cradles in the room for so long and then putting some technique behind it has helped me not feel too worried when I’m in that position.”

Missouri’s Wyatt Koelling locked up a cradle Sunday and tried to take Darmstadt over.

“Luckily, it’s a position I practice a lot — getting cradled in a front-headtrap and being able to work all these positions,” Darmstadt said. “Max Askren is someone who really started me working in that position. I felt comfortable and I sat my weight back and let him overextend on one side, popped through, lifted his leg and ended up locking my own cradle and getting the fall.”

Doyle Trout has my full support for the Hodge Trophy this season. He’s an incredibly tough chap.

I wish the ankle pass situation would be labeled potentially dangerous and stopped as soon as it occurred. I understand that some wrestlers would use the rule cynically, but that could be considered stalling and enforced via that route. Just too many injuries/near injuries to knees the way things are now.

Nice to see Lehigh lay it on Minny. :D

Lee appeared to twist Hoffman's foot causing the knee problem.
I wonder how that compares to what Glory did yesterday at Midlands. When i first saw Glory's match it looked like he was intentionally twisting the knee, hope when i go back and take a second look it isn't as bad as my first impression.

Watched the end of the Glory match several times. There is no clear view, as Glory's back is to the video, and Hudkins' foot is obscured. No comment from me about intent, as I don't know, and to be honest we can't even see the foot being torqued. All we see is the result … the pain Hudkins is in afterwards.
