He is a great wrestler. First, was he ever interested in PSU? Did PSU offer him

Spencer made numerous visits to Penn State and it was widely assumed he would be Nico's successor.
He made a verbal commitment to Iowa in April 2016.

There's this really cool new forum feature called "search" that can answer all sorts of questions for you about the past ...
Google also works ... well mostly, Foley and Spyker can't seem to use it either.

Does PSU have somebody coming in at that weight lass next year? psykim

PSU has no one to match SLee’s skill level. He is the next Snyder and I wouldn’t be surprised if he wins four titles.

El’s “Rule the World” scenario had he and Suriano manning PSU’s 125-133 lbs for three years. Interesting how those are the Lions only holes.... what happened Cael?

Just one man's opinion - a veri brief answer to the question.

What happened is the little boy from NJ chose to go away from home but got his feelings hurt and pooped his diaper, his daddy had to come and wipe his bottom for him, threatening everyone in their path with bullying attorney tactics. He then threw a tantrum and left. His destiny of 4 straight in tatters he had to blame someone, bailed on his commitment to team or anything greater than his self rather than simply accept accidents happen and come back committed to being a key part of what could have been the best ever.

It's too hard for some to be only 6th best in the presence of greatness. He is now the best and the center of attention in the presence of mediocrity, just how he likes it, just how he needs it.

Having been gut wrenched for 4 months as this played out last summer, I can now say good riddance as we have a team in every sense of the word and the last time I checked there is no "NJ" in team. Good riddance.

The other one definitely broke all of our PA hearts when he chose to go away from home, pulled his shirt and is now on his way to 4 straight. In contrast he is a man while the other still a child. I remain convinced if Cael had passed on NJ, Spencer would be a Lion today. Maybe he knew something we didn't. Alas we will just have to be satisfied with Spencer taking out both Nato and the toddler from NJ this year and giving us a sweet 2fer in March.

Oh what could have been, but then again with both of them in blue and white it might just have ruined the sport and made HR less readable that it already is at times. They are such devoted fans and I really like 90% of the discourse. However had we landed both and started shutting out top 10 teams with regularity the constant banter of slush funds, Sandusky, cheating, Cael can recruit but not coach,... would have become deafening on HR. Unreadable.

In balance we are all better off today, but the hole at 125/133 is in no way Cael's fault. It is to Cael's credit that hole will be partially closed next year. It is most difficulty as an investment in a kid is a 4+ year commitment, and with only 9.9 a miss really hurts and can not be fixed over night.

To think a walking legend, a real man of integrity showed up at his doorstep at 12:01 a.m. only to be treated so disrespectfully makes me sick. The lessons both NJ and his dad could have learned from this man in 4 years would have lasted a lifetime, far beyond what is needed for the mats.

Karma has a way of working these things out.

Flame off, Goggles out.

that was quite a rant, Goggles, and certainly one way of looking at it

another perspective --- young people sometimes make questionable decisions, and parents get involved, too

At this point, bygones. Being rich (in talent and championships, and PSU has/will get plenty of both) is the best revenge.

Goggles, Cael did right by the kid by sending him away to where he wanted to go and nowhere else (I hear it was a waiver to RU only?), Cael did right by the kid by wishing him well. Be like Cael. No need to have this much anger towards Nick. Let him do him. PSU is fine either way.

"His destiny of 4 straight in taters"........Sounds like my destiny. I like'em baked, twice baked, scalloped, mashed, fried, hashed, mixed with eggs, grilled, french fried, etc, etc.

Yum.

Very impressive post Googles, bravo. Although I expected you to weave in the cruiseliner and perennial top 5 references.

I'll also add that with Teske, Teasdale, and RBY coming next year and Busiello the following year I'd argue the hole won't just be partially closed :)

I know a guy that when he goes to a restaurant that offers your choice of two or three sides, he orders two or three baked potatoes. The bastard is over 40 and thin as a rail

Loved this post Googles, but I have to poke fun.....you started by saying 'a very brief answer...'. Good thing for all of us that it wasn't a long answer :)

They're really not that filling

Unless you do what I do with a baked potato, which is fill 'em with salsa, bacon, shredded cheese, sour cream, butter, chives, and more

Best shape of my life, lol

Cael. The man is an utter failure as a coach. HR told us that, but we wouldn't believe them. ;)

There is northwestern fan on there posting lately. He is the goofball who was clamoring about Zain's top wrestling is anti-jpint dirty. He seems to represent a wide array of the real goofy goofballs on HR, and I seriously believe I have not seen a single post he has offered that has been correct.

He is consistently wrong to the point of absolute that I would like to talk to him. If given a chance I would ask him from all of the numbers available to pick on a Powerball slip which 5 numbers would you absolutely never pick for the next drawing. With his inability to utter anything correctly
I do believe those 5 numbers are almost guaranteed to win.

With that track record I'm sure he's attracting quite a following on HR :)

Being wrong in so many areas of knowledge leads me to think a chat would be fruitless, frustrating and failure riddled. Much like political debates, minds are not changed no matter facts presented.

During a visit many years ago my cousin said to my mother, when presented with some vegetables that would be a new experience to his taste buds. "I wouldn't eat them even if I did like them!" Contrarians rule.
