Only the third Iowa guy to win, eh? I thought they were entitled to all the awards, just because.
Congrats to Spencer! Looks like the Hodge stays in PA.
So Cael still has as many Hodge Awards himself as all Iowa wrestlers combined.
Ironside (1998); Metcalf (2008); Lee (2020). They get one every 10 years or so. Penn State has 5 in the last 9 years, not to mention 4 runner-ups in the same 9 years, including 2 years where Nittany Lion wrestlers were 1 and 2 (2018 and 2019). In 2019, PSU went 1,2 and 3 (Nickal, Nolf and co-winners Nickal and Nolf, respectively).

Ah, I did not realize it only goes back to 1995. Pretty sure Iowa would have had a few in the 80s/early 90s.
I am still trying to figure out how they gave an award before the sport was even invented, and you are surprised it doesn’t go back even farther?
