No. I don't think he'd be a good locker room guy -- just my impression from the way he carries himself (combined with the way he behaved on QB1...although I understand kids to mature between HS and college)
Nah! We'd only use him in a Power-I formation, as a RB, or we'd use him in a two-QB set play!
If Rattler loses the starting job I suspect he would declare for the draft rather than transfer. To the question, if he enters the portal in the offseason, any team that does not have an established starting QB would go all out for him and if not, they are not very smart. Kid is a terrific player.
With the recruits we have coming in, why would we want a portal QB? I’ll take my chances with Allar. Currently 8-0, great stats, and one of the leading candidates for Mr. Football in Ohio.
He will be at the end of the season if he hasn't regained his job. I would guess he ends up at ASU or UA..
I think if Clifford isn't coming back you take a QB in the portal who has one year left as starter and bridge the gap to Allar or Pribula. Having that or Clifford would be ideal. Give the youngsters one year in the system and one of them starts as a redshirt freshman.
Not that he's much different than most highly ranked QBs coming out of high school, but watching the Netflix series on high school QBs wasn't too flattering-and I understand the clips are cherry picked to maximize drama. That said, any decrease in O-line and RB play will test and challenge a QB-just ask Sean Clifford from last year. He appears to be pretty mobile, and from what I hear an accurate passer, but slight in build and not the strongest arm. As in many cases, what makes them excel and compete, their drive/ego, can make challenging situations worse. I think either way, he's in the draft next year, not sure where he falls.
The other QBs on the Netflix show committed to Kentucky and coming off an injury, and committed to Maryland-got hurt and behind the Alabama transfer and then transferred to a Louisiana school-not LSU.
The odds of highly ranked QBs coming out high school making it at the next level are high, and the same with the pros. But drama, success, and in some ways struggle and failure are attractive and viewing worthy.
What if he is the best one? I mean he had has some brain farts, but 39/12 with over 5000 yard passing so far is pretty decent. I thought he was good last season.
Maybe we'll eventually get to the point where a player can transfer to the opposing team during halftime and play for both teams in the same game.

Maybe something like Florida going with the young Freshman Richardson and then Emory Jones taking a look around. If Cliff doesn't come back we need a portal guy that is going to be a Senior to come in and run the show for a year. Allar, and Pribula for that matter I think are the real deal.
The problem is a portal QB doesn't automatically guarantee success. They're in the portal because they were probably were behind someone on their previous team
Yeah, Burroughs and Cam won MNC's. Fields played for one.....so there are some high value QB's that transfer. There are no guarantees, but there have been some positive additions to many teams via the portal.
