of Venue Admittance improve his/her performance vs. prior home games?

I'm especially interested to hear what changes were implemented for student admittance, if any?

Not a student, but it took me a half hour of standing in line waiting to be scanned with the wand. Started in line about 2:30. One of the things I hate about the stadium experience.

We went in at about 2:30 through Gate B and had no wait at all. In fact, I was the only person in my line.

That's not good. PSU should at least be marginally more competent and "customer- friendly" than the TSA.

LOL. Ya think? Folks will fly, regardless of how frustrating the TSA is. PSU is dependent upon fans purchasing tix, and long lines to get in do not encourage those that are not season ticket holders to return.

FWIW, my neighbors went up for the game. On Wednesday, I was giving them some tips, and one of the last things I said was to leave their tailgate earlier than they would expect, so that they wouldn't get stuck in the entry lines.

No problems at all this time. Good job.

That said the experience is random. I also had to wait forever for Maryland. You never know what you are going to get, and this fiasco needs fixed.

Slow on east side. Took about 25-30 minutes to get in. I can see this being one of the stadium improvements. The current design isn't appropriate for the security needs of today.

Well.....there were considerably less people in general. Less in the parking lots and less in the stadium. That was a factor.

Waiting to enter I had to think any renovation is going to prioritize better ingress and egress. They could never clear the stadium quickly enough if there were a sudden electrical storm or, God forbid, something worse.

Entered the line outside of Gate C at 2:55. Got into the Stadium at 3:20 and there was a massive horde of people behind us. Same deal at Gate B as we originally went there first and decided to keep on walking. It's a freakin joke to have 4 entry points for the potential of 100,000+ people. I get the security measures and I'm fine with that but it shouldn't mean I should cut my tailgate short because of it (especially if I'm parked out in the far reaches of Lot 24/25).

We have used gate E on the east side of the stadium all year. We arrive about an hour before kickoff which gives us time to use the restroom, get a drink and pretzel, get to our seats and watch some of the pregame warmups then be ready for the Blue Band. We have had no problem all year. Any one who is arriving at the stadium within 30 minutes of kickoff should know there is going to be a delay. Everyone on this board is fairly intelligent, after all you are Penn State fans. Just get to the stadium a little early and there should be little if any problem getting in.

No line at gate D at 2:30. I had no problems all year, but I try to enter an hour early.

Thats the gate I use as well and was there about the same time, was in line for about 2 minutes.
Not sure why people think they can get to a gate at 3:00 for a 3:30 game and not have any issues, especially since
its been an ongoing problem all season especially at gate C. And for what its worth when I walked past Gate C to get to D at
2:25 ish there were no lines.

About 30 minutes before kickoff, my son and I were walking around the concourse on the East side and we stopped to watch the OSU/Michigan game on a TV by the concession stand and when I looked out to the lots there were a ton of people in line trying to get in. My son now knows why I always tell him we are going to go in early!

Gate c was awful.
Gate C is always the worst because it opens 30 minutes late or sometimes even later depending on when the visiting team buses arrive and get parked. Do yourself a favor next year and walk the 100 or so yards to gate B.

This was the first year wanding people so I am not surprised it didn't go well. They have an entire offseason to come up with a solution to the problem. Most solutions like adding additional gates was not feasible mid season.

I also think it time to end the volunteer concession stands. I use to love that they did it but it simply not working anymore. They don't even have every window open during the game in many stands.

Yea, that was something I noticed this year as well. Its always been like that for the final game but there were games this fall, and game time didn't seem to matter, that some of them were closed.
Odd.

Certainly the speed and safety of fan ingress and egress will be a significant factor in the renovation plans for Beaver Stadium. That might mean more gates and it probably means wider portals and ramps.

All that said, if you wait until 30 minutes before kickoff to approach a gate, why should you be surprised that there are long lines?
