Steelers better watch out for the Browns.

So what are the odds on him staying out of Jail or not gettig suspended by the time the Brownies play the Steelers?

The Browns have improved their defense and Watson has had another year to work out the kinks. I could see them beating the Steelers. I could see the Steelers finishing in last place in their division especially since their QB stinks.

The Browns are really solid and deep. If Watson can regain his Texans form, they'll be a contender. LB is their only real weakness but I suspect that this was done on purpose to use that money for DE and CB. Chubb is the best RB in the NFL IMHO.

I predict the Steelers will finish 4-13. Their QB will toss plenty of interceptions and, since he runs like he is in molasses, he will get sacked often. With their first pick last year they should have chosen a stud defensive end and kept Trubyski at QB. They would be much better off now.

This is what I’m thinking of as well. All of the young guys have a full offseason under their belts, Khan rebuilt the roster quite well, you get TJ Watt back, *and* you have a lighter schedule. I think 9 wins is the floor, and I wouldn’t be surprised if they overtake Cincinnati to win the division. We finally figured out how to beat them last season. I’m excited to see what they can do in this new era of Steeler football.

Is there a tougher division in football than the AFC North? I think you can make the argument for the AFC West, but I don’t think the Raiders are better than any team in the north.

You could theoretically finish fourth in the division and qualify for the postseason, yet you could also win 10/11 games and miss it. I can’t recall the AFC being this stacked before, even in the Brady/Manning/Roethlisberger era. Every division (except for the south) has so much depth. Will make for a fun season.

Four of the eight top O linemen are new to the team. Every single middle linebacker, plus the linebacker coach, are all new. Joey Jr is projected to start….always an issue when a rookie starts, especially at DB. Cam Heyward, while great the last couple years, is getting long in the tooth and may fade some this year. Can Watt stay healthy? Will Picket progress as hoped?

And the biggest question for me …..is Tomlin really a good head coach?

Lots of questions there. Doubt they make the playoffs.

And those are all fair questions. There’s certainly two sides to the coin. I think it’ll come down to how far Pickett progresses and whether Harris can be the effective workhorse back they need him to be in this offense.

Steelers will need to watch out for everyone
Agree. I think they could be anywhere from six wins to 11 wins. It all depends on how quickly the offensive line gels and how well the young cornerbacks play to me.

Yep, it seems that the Black & Gold likely have less than a 50-50 chance for the playoffs.

But I've seen over the years that new OL combinations that are talented take dramatic steps upwards in their play after a few games. If the Steelers can just play .500 through the first 6 games they could surprise us in the positive direction. No doubt that they have added significant talent to the OL room, but it will take some games to sort it out and get their 1st round draft choice ready to play well.

But every team, in today's NFL, has to integrate new players into their team, and I like what they have done on defense. Other than the inside LB's being all new, but the starters having NFL experience, and the new CB's having to learn the coverages, the defense looks very good. DL is getting a couple new players with the 2nd round pick from Wisky likely to add to the run defense as well as QB pressure as he works his way into the rotation.

If ARob come to play the WR room can make Picket look like more than the mediocre player he probably is. But I don't discount Picket's mobility as he have very good pocket awareness and decision making at Pitt. I seem to remember the last PSU-Pitt game where PSU only sacked him a couple of time, but a lesser aware QB would have gotten sacked 6-10 times......
