Super 32

I’ve mostly just seen some clips, but it seems like sometimes he just out-muscles guys. That’s pretty amazing since he just started his Junior year, but I wonder if that might catch up to him in college.

Carson Manville into the 170 semis, against MI 189 state champ Manny Rojas. We remember Rojas for getting a DQ win over Facundo by eating an aggressive double -- but is a very good wrestler.

Bennett Berge into the 182 semis.

The thing with Bouzakis I've seen is that, yes, he can overpower dudes, but he has the skill and wrestling technique to beat better guys. He's beaten Crookham by having great defense. Does he not have a list of potential schools? He's been one with a very quiet recruiting process or at least I haven't seen anything.

106 - PA state champ Vinny Kilkeary into the finals.

113 - PJ Duke into the finals, with a rideout win.

120 - Mason Gibson into the finals with a 7-6 win. Mac Church loses other semi 4-2 to Connor Flynn (TN). Flynn earlier beat Tyler Kasak in rideouts when Kasak got nailed for a 3rd caution.

Kasak is in the 7th place match with Frost (LA) ...

Bouzakis into the 132 finals vs. future Meatchicken Chance Lamer.

M2 disciple Levi Haines into the 138 finals, has given up 1 pt in the last 3 matches.

Waynesburg's Rocco Welsh into the 145 finals.

Erie Prep's Paniro Johnson loses 7-4 to Ferrari in the 152 semis.

PA guys alive in consis:
113 - Kollin Rath, Beca (I think 8th grade) - 7th/8th
120 - Mac Church, Waynesburg SO - consi semis
120 - Tyler Kasak, Beca SO - 7th/8th
126 - Jackson Arrington, Forest Hills JR - consi semis
132 - Nathan Lucier, Coatesville SR - consi semis
138 - Kyle Hauserman, Council Rock North SR (Penn) - consi semis
138 - Kelvin Griffin, Hill School JR - 7th/8th (PA only in prep school; from Maine)
152 - Paniro Johnson, Erie Prep SR (Iowa State) - consi semis
152 - Grant MacKay, North Allegheny SO - 7th/8th
160 - Erik Gibson, Forest Hills SR (Cornell) - 7th/8th
170 - Carson Manville, State College SR - consi semis
170 - Sammy Starr, Kiski SR - 7th/8th
182 - Joey Milano, Spring Ford SR (NC State) - consi semis
195 - Ethan Finch, Sheffield SR - consi semis

Pierson Manville lost his first consis match and is out.

Bouzakis 13-4 MD over Lamer.

OW type tourney for him -- really brought the offense. His matches:
F 1:54 (up 11-1 at the time)
TF 18-1, 4:07
F 2:30 (up 10-4)
F 2:12 (up 10-2)
quarters: F 1:58 (up 8-0)
semis: 10-4 dec
finals: 13-4 MD

132 consis - Lucier 5th.

Bouzakis really is an animal, but he looks technically sound as well. He looked like a D1 guy mauling a high schooler in that final against Lamer.

Bouzakis really is a hammer, solid in all positions. Flynn looked really good over Gibson, but was quite larger than him, hard to believe they were the same weight class.

182 finals - Berge pinned by Soldano at 5:48, was losing 8-6 at the time.
182 consis - Milano 3rd.
195 consis - Finch 4th. Ohio State recruit Shumate 5th after getting decked in consi semis.

Perennial Top 10 HWT Hamilton took 3rd after losing to Wisky commit Copass in the semis.

182 finals - Berge pinned by Soldano at 5:48, was losing 8-6 at the time.
182 consis - Milano 3rd.

Thanks for the updates

Hamilton is overrated af. Shumate looks like he's wrestling up twenty pounds lol.

Soldano is a dangerous pinner who you don't want to be down on the mat with, top or bottom. Berge could have beaten him with catch & release.

Wow, that really was a terrible call. I expected to see something that wasn't clear but that was CLEARLY NOT a slam.
It was horrible. You can see the ref was definitely getting pissed at Johnson. Although if you watch the whole match, they were each throwing some heavy hands and hands to the head/face. Ley drew blood once with his hand to Paniro's face. Then the ref awarded Ley a point for Paniro's hand to the face. Right after that, Ley bull rushed Johnson off the mat and into the spectators. No call or warning there. At the next restart, Johnson immediately got in on the single, took it high and executed a foot sweep just as Ley tried to back flip. The ref stopped it and called the illegal move (slam). I hope he is embarrassed today, but I somehow doubt it. Great way for the kid to grab a third place finish. Wrestling doesn't always teach good life lessons.

How hard will Cael pursue Bouzakis? Doesnt seem like an area of need, but is he too good not to go after?

In an earlier thread it was mentioned that Nic doesn’t have a top list of schools yet, FWIW

Super impressed with Soldano.. he wrestled aggressively and looked really strong... very strong rider and on the mat.. always looking for points..

Berge released Soldano to start neutral in the third but ended up getting taken down and seemed gassed at that point.. Soldano had more in the tank, worked top again, and got the pin..
