Why not another poll. This time, where does Suriano land? My bet (never money) is that now that he sees that there is no real NLI money out there, he shocks everyone and comes back to the good guys. HR implodes....

My guesses would be:
Michigan (would allow him to train with Micic and prep for an Olympic run with Italy)
Okie state (large mma scene down in and around Stillwater)
Iowa State (able to throw money at him)
Nebraska (because west2east said there’s a dark horse)

aside from Penn state, asu and tosu have ranked guys at 125

ISU offers way more as far as wrestling than simply "able to throw money at him".
1. Joe Colon (former world medalist
2. Brent Metcalf (decent hand fighter who has a style Nicky pushups might like)
3. Nate Carr- Damn good freestyle coach
4. If the goal is to take out the choosen one ISU or PSU would make the most headlines.
5. Celeb status on campus- people in Iowa care about college wrestling.

I'm not saying that I even really want the guy, but acting like it is a choice between all of these wrestling choices and lowly ISU the non wrestling choice with money is lazy at best and a mind set Hawkeye morons portray but I expect better than that from PSU faithful. We did produce Dan Gable and Cael just to name a couple fairly good alumni.

This just in. Suriano decides to wrestle unattached. The Suriano attorney announced the family recently formed Suriano homeschool university with an enrollment of one. Likewise the wrestling team is comprised of one player coach who will compete in opens alone as a means to qualify for the national tournament. The school uniforms are shirtless, and the insignia an abdominal six pack with a well muscled arm raised of to one side. It is reported that Nick received all 9.9 scholarships.

Valid points. I wasn’t trying to diminish the choice of Iowa state as it is a great choice. I was purely being lazy in explanations as almost all the schools offer much more than i gave them credit for.

I understand. I didn't mean to come off as a prick defending my school. I just hate when the Iowa fan base constantly tries claiming ISU has nothing to offer as far as wrestling all the while relishing the glory years created by ISU alum Dan Gable. You guys are waaaay better than that. My favorite part of the PSU crowd is the level headed approach to understanding that there are many programs that can produce excellence. PSU happens to do more of it than anybody else in our current climate.

Agreed we ARE pretty terrific!

Most of the Iowa fan base does know ISU has something to offer. We just wonder why you have been so consistently down since Cael left left.

I don't even worry about ISU, or really look forward to the dual that much because Iowa dominates them every year. When's the last year Iowa State beat Iowa in wrestling? 17-18 years? Kevin Dresser came in swinging preaching oranges and Iowa shut him up and widened the gap between the schools.

We all know Ames is a shithole to live in so that certainly doesn't help. ISU can't even get the top in-state talent in their backyard to come there. Thank goodness for Nate Carr atleast. He is good coach and brought his son to town.

If you are going get Suriano to come there, the Clones better have a full brief case of cash and a couple smokeshow blondes for a kicker.

Is Ames really any more of a shithole than Iowa City??

No. Ames is a Much nicer town. Iowa shitty is a crappy run down town filled with very rough looking houses. The streets are terrible. It looks like a little detroit. Ames is much nicer as far as roads, houses, food, recreation, crime, and most of all people.
But most importantly, do they boo injured football players if the opposing team in Ames?!

LOL!!

Simply not true. Ames is the butthole of Iowa. I will leave it at that.

Well if these two posters are representative of their respective fanbases and cities, then the class of James P. Whitters III wins by Tech Fall over the obnoxious arrogance of Wildturk.
Well coming from you that just means.. not a damn thing. Would you consider yourself obnoxious and arrogant? Just curious.

Let us just say you can see the conduct of the two fan bases and they are distinctly different. We already know from experience that Iowa City is more dangerous than Iran. If I owned iowa shitty and hell I would live in hell and hope to find a sucker to rent iowa shitty.

Wildturk continues to serve the country, so there’s that.😏
Never once claimed to serve our country in the military. All that was made up here, overplayed and frankly disrespectful to those that have served. Another example of an abused repeat joke here used for cheap "likes". The median age is like 57 here so I know the lame repetitive jokes will never end, it will only get worse as dementia and time settles in ;)

Now back to Suriano-

Suriano to IC, Lee redshirts. Both make Olympic teams in 2024.

Most recent pre-pandemic rankings, Iowa City Best College Town. Who wants to be “best pandemic college town” anyway? But good for ISU, great school.

So wherever Suriano winds up I just hope it’s at 125. I mean, for all the canonization of Spencer Lee that occurs, it’s easy to forget he’s lost to guys like Bresser and Piccininni.

I realize Lee is better now, but does anyone think that it’s impossible for a healthy Suriano to beat a 75% Spencer Lee?

I never mentioned the military. I just highlighted how you serve this country, in your own way. Here is your quote(The board never forgets):
“but he has no clue what I do on a daily basis to help improve this country”
My entire life anybody I have ever known that "served this country" has been in the military.

Big difference between "improve"and "serve"

You guys are talking about towns and stuff, but the thing that makes Iowa such a great state is the people are amazingly friendly everywhere you go. If the buildings and streets are your main attraction, then find a rich suburb somewhere, but if you want to be surrounded by good, honest, hard working, friendly, and fun people - go just about anywhere in Iowa.
And you won't be able to understand it until you experience it.

A healthy Suriano beats a 75% Spencer 83% of the time.
Hell, a healthy Suriano is 40-60 against a 100% healthy Spencer. Suriano's downfall against a healthy Spencer is Suriano wants to handfight until Spencer falls down, and he won't initiate any offense.

Good percentages! 😂

60% of the time it works every time!
