They really do train not shoot in Iowa, these 16u kids from Iowa aren't shooting at all. The only way they are scoring is on re-attacks so fricking boring to watch....

Who gives a s”it if he no longer wants to do greco. Why not focus all on folkstyle / freestyle, thats what he will benefit the most from.

I couldn’t care less if he does greco or not. What’s stupid is him making a big show out of “retiring” when he’s in junior high. If he just stopped wrestling greco and didn’t say a word I doubt anyone even would’ve noticed.
PA Red blew by Oklahoma Blue 60-18 to finish 9th. Both PA teams this weekend were very competitive. I think they were pretty balanced overall.

He took 5th at PJW JH states this year. Lost to Almedina by decision in the semis. He went 10-0 during freestyle so the kid is obviously not shy about getting mat time and facing good competition
The Men’s and Women’s Junior National Duals kick off tomorrow and Thursday.

Saw a WIwrestle tweet that had Conner listed at 190(with Sinclair). I'm hoping Wisconsin and Iowa hit so we can get Dreshaun Ross v Cole Mirasola. Would be a good one.

I'm less familiar with the girls, but that is a very wide talent distribution, especially for such a recent run-up to make girls' wrestling official in PA. It's encouraging. Best of luck to them.
I’m familiar with a handful of the girl wrestlers (Jaffe, Astorino, Chiesa, Lauta, Silva, Watson, Bacon, Unrue, Bouzakis, Ryhal, Hunt), but probably 80-90% of them are new to me. Nevertheless, it’s great to see such full teams for the women’s duals
I got a couple on each JR team for MN and 2 girls heading out for 16U today.
Looks like PA got the 1 and MN Blue got the 2. Hopefully things play out that way and we get a cool final!

I believe there was an interview a few weeks back where Connor stated the last 3 weights - not including 285 - were going to be him, Cole and Sinclair. Probably doesn't matter (much) where they weigh in at - in fact, it's probably better if they have two guys weigh in at the same weight (as long as it is not 215) to have some flexibility with the matchups. They want to win it.

In Men’s Junior Greco, team PA won 68-1 over Arkansas and 51-17 over Nebraska. They’re currently wrestling in the finals against Idaho for 1st place in Pool A.
In Junior Women’s Freestyle, PA Blue won 53-18 over Michigan Red and 51-17 over Wisconsin to make the finals of Pool A against Iowa.
PA Red beat Arkansas Blue 46-18, then lost to Indiana 45-26, then lost to Utah 41-30. They’ll face South Dakota in the 7th/8th place match in Pool C.

Last year Jones made JR Greco finals at Fargo, and in March won JR Folkstyle Nationals. He's headed to North Dakota State in the fall.

That pin was almost exactly how Cassar stuck Bulk Job in the national finals.

For those wondering, Wisconsin and Iowa did get drawn into the same pool for the Gold/Silver bracket so there’s a real possibility that we could see a Ross vs Mirasola matchup at 215. They face off in the final dual of Pool A for the Gold/Silver bracket tomorrow morning.

Mirasola is a different level than Mocco. A lot of hype around Mocco, but he is nowhere near Mirasola.
It will be fun to watch Mirasola beat up Ross tomorrow from Iowa. The Iowa people have been talking about this guy for years now.
