That is not the worst OSU team in 10 years. It is an average, but very young OSU team. They will be better next year.

I don't know about the offense being better.

Defense probably so. I don't care about the stars. Yall won't replace Olave and Wilson easily. Might have faster players, but not beat out upper classmates and be in the right spot guys.

Even if it was the worst team in 10 years (which it isn’t), it’s still better than pretty much all the other teams in the country. Kind of like a pro team complaining that they lost to the worst Super Bowl winning Patriot team.

Franklin still couldn't beat them!

Franklin is 1-7 against OSU! It'd be 0-8 if not for a fluke block FG for a TD!
Bruh, this is FAR from the “worst OSU team in 10 years.” They have the best and most dynamic offense in college football. You my friend are clueless.

We played a HELL of a game last night, and I loved our fight and heart. I think we are going to use this to catapult us for the rest of the season, and it’s going to be a great month of November for this team!

Stroud was very complimentary to the PSU defense after the game, and in particular Brisker who he called smart and tough. OSU's offensive line is weird in that it has given up very few sacks (I believe 0 to PSU) during the course of the year, but can't consistently run. All they have to do is open up minor cracks for Henderson and he will take care of the rest. Just doesn't seem to be a priority.

After the game, I was impressed with the good sportsmanship of both teams who were shaking hands in a good natured way after the game. We can use more of that in our society.

But Clifford wasn’t healthy…a recurring theme that hasn’t been addressed. Yes, there’s some bad luck there, but he’s still asked to do things like carry the ball often that he wouldn’t do to preserve his health.

After several years, we start asking how much is continued bad luck vs due to other underlying factors?

Well, carrying ball can hurt the QB but Clifford's injury this year was throwing the ball. Same happened to Zack Mill when everyone was worried he hurt himself running the ball, in the end it was a passing play where he severely rolled his ankle.

IMO what has hurt this team as been the portal and being slow to adapt to it plus we always have issues in recruiting / player development. DT is a perfect example of that. PJ year we brought in three highly ranked kid and only one is with the team, two washed out, Hawkins and Culpepper both 4* kids. Now we have an experience gap that has hurt us. Same at DE, half the guys we have brough in over the past 2-3 years are MIA, we can't keep missing like that. Same thing happened at WR last year, couple of guys haven't panned out and we had to start 2 FR under some of the worse circumstance you would think of in terms of getting them spun up. When we get players in we need better hit rates when it comes to player development or better player evaluation to start with.

Ohio State lost 2 games in 2013, 2016 (one to PSU, and one in the CFP semifinal), and 2017. They've made the CFP 4 times, and this team has been projected as the 5th. It's a bit early to make any judgments on where this team ranks.
