Tonight's episode has the daughter (Erica) interviewing with Penn State and talks about the dad (Murray) being an alum. She wants to go to CMU and tanks her interview. They reference Penn State at least a dozen times.

Yep.

Murray was 1 credit shy of graduating lol.

Love that they mention PSU a lot on this show

That's a really funny show for those of us that grew up in the 70's/80's and are Jewish or have Jewish friends. I watch it or DVR it every week. The mom is pretty funny.

Not Jewish, but having grown up in the 70s/80s about 30 minutes from Jenkintown makes me enjoy this show even more. Love the references to the Flyers and the Willow Grove Mall. Very funny show.

I grew up even closer. Used to go to Edelman's in Jenkintown all the time. Wonder if they mention Ogontz Campus (now Abington) at all, as that's 5 min away....

Great show...in the class with modern family, the middle and blackish IMHO.

Best one was when dad took the kid to a Phillies game. He makes the kid go to the bathroom by himself. The bathroom is broken so the kid goes to a different level but then doesn't have a ticket to get back to his Dad's seating area (pre cell phone of course). Dad gets engrossed in the game and never notices the kid comes back. Hours go by and the two are separated and both scared to death for different reasons. Not only that, dad is pissed at the kid for being incompetent and kid is pissed at dad for leaving him on his own. Finally, hours later, they meet up at the car and are ready to have big fight. But they both start crying and just hug eachother. Great, GREAT episode.

Have watched since the show started...no shout out for Ogontz Campus that I can recall. But many local landmarks in most episodes (Hiway Theater, Willow Grove Park Mall, Kremp Florists, and others).

When they discover in the episode that the dad (Murray) is one credit short of his degree, I thought for sure they were going to talk about going to Ogontz to complete his degree. Ogontz is where I went to take my placement tests for PSU.

you guys buried the lede:

Cricket was the admissions interviewer!

Seriously, it is refreshing to watch a half hour of prime time TV and hear "Penn State" mentioned in a positive light.
