The Last Time Ed Ruth Was An Underdog

Best wrestler to ever come out of the old ‘hood! Super nice guy too!

Ruth's legs had to be at least 6 inches longer than Lewnes', but Ruth was so much quicker and consistantly got home with his leg shots.

It is easy to forget just how dominating Ed was. When he was "on" he was basically unstoppable. "Ruth doesn't have to do nothing but pay taxes and die at this point." Classic : ) Also funny how Fretwell didn't know the kid mat side was Ed's little brother, Edmond. P.S. it is nice to see Edmond doing so well at Illinois. I am sure Ed is loving being able to coach his brother.

Showed the video to another native from the 'hood who is an ex Penn wrestler. He loved it - Penn and Cornell are big Ivy League rivals.

Agreed… but the hood has had some other good ones too. The Rawls’ brothers and Phil Davis quickly come to mind.

You’re talking about the Burg, I was referring to our development which is called Latshmere Manor. We had a lot of guys living there that wrestled in both HS and college. Ed was unequivocally the best of them.
