The Penn State Perspective vs The Iowa Perspective

The picture of Josey Wales, ( a hardened and true Iowa fan) was legendary for following through on a bet with me. He took a picture of himself wearing the PENN STATE tee shirt I sent to him with Terry Brands. I give immense props to Josey and Terry Brand for being such a great sport about it. If "Josey Wales" wasn't a legend before.. he became one then. Maybe he's traumatized from the experience. I miss him posting and I wonder where he's been. He's a hardened Iowa poster, but a fair and objective guy. Similar to Chief... but he had the cajones to take a bet and follow through.

NO... the most recent history will be what Penn State will create in March. That will be 5 titles in 7 years for Cael and he'll be clearly on his way to that dynasty he talked about.

At Penn State... we don't go back to the 82' or the 86' National Championship teams to prove points. That's ancient history and has no bearing whatsoever on how coach Franklin performs today.

Josey was a one of kind Iowa poster and there will never be another like him. He reeked of class and never backed down from a bet or a challenge. He was top shelf. It's rare to find someone like him. He was the best. I miss him and his candor tremendously.

For crying out loud I didn't die! Close but that was over a year ago. Strokes suck, try to avoid them. If I make typing errors please cut me some slack. It took me a month to learn how to read again and I slowly got better and better but my spelling sucks sometimes.
I had a stroke on 9/11/15 almost didn't make it. But I'm doing well I was able to get back to teaching last Feb, so it's been a year back to full time teaching and coaching this month. I did not make any kind of decision to quit posting here I just sort of quit coming over in the off season and when reading is hard these boards are less fun as you can imagine. Thanks for the kind words, We are all wrestling guys and if nothing else that is a tie that binds - NoVa is a good guy, really nice to have met him, and Amalone and LL have always kept me on my toes.
I am back in my 23 year as head coach of my high school team so I really don't post all that much and never have this time of the year. i need a wrestling fix in the off season and early in the college season and late in the college season is when I post the most. I will throw out some opinions if the need comes up.... Check you later. by the way i think that AZ34 is a great hawk poster and I have never had an allis but he posts the most like me than anyone else, thats why I like him! haha

Lol... I hope you're not worried about my signature line... right now. I didn't have the privilege of being remotely alive in 1953. It bothers me... tremendously and wholeheartedly... when you're bothered about my signature line.

Make sure you guys don't miss the big dual between national power house Montana State OK Hardware University vs The Iowa Hawkeyes. Do you guys have any local Junior Colleges we could schedule next year? That is the biggest difference between the PSU and Iowa perspective.

I think Bloomsburg University is now considered a Junior College, unlike the Ricky and Rocky Bonomo days.

Those guys were beasts, what about the Montclair state guys? They used DIII nationals for their DI qualifier.

About the hawks wrestling this team..... Just trying to grow the sport a little and travel somewhere different, I think if they were afraid of competition they might not have took on OSU to open the season......

It really is... it's like HEAVEN'S GATES opening up and getting one of our own back again. Can't describe how happy I am... how overjoyed I am to see Josey's name there. No words to describe... literally none. Wow...

While waiting for the tournament to begin an Iowa fan and a Penn State fan were knocking down a few cold ones discussing the finer details of wrestling. In walked a tall shapely drop dead gorgeous woman and proceeded to sit the far end of the bar. The Penn State guy said "man I wish I had the nerve to go talk to her". The Iowa guy said "why don't we move halfway towards her after each beer" thinking they would be able to get the courage up by doing so. After some deep thought The Penn State guy said " we'll never get there". The Iowa guy replied "we'll get close enough".

Penn State's Sports Information people talk about winning with up tempo wrestling and in Cael's interview he references March three times and his wrestlers echo that sentiment while Tom Ryan calls Cael... "The biggest hire in Collegiate Coaching history".

While Iowa's Sports Information people are proclaiming... The second-ranked University of Iowa wrestling team clinched at least a share of the Big Ten regular season championship with a 45-0 win over No. 20 Indiana on Friday at Carver-Hawkeye Arena. And there's a picture of Iowa's team in their championship tee shirts and championship hats.

Not a peep out of Penn State about being co-champs or winning any championship at all. NO Championship tee shirts or championship hats made. Just talk of March. No photo op at Penn State with Championship anything.

And couldn't have Iowa Sports Information people also named the Iowa Hawkeyes... the All Big Ten "Happy Bunch" with all those sullen, morose looking faces or the Big Ten Championship All-Camo team??)

Somewhere Jammer is jealous that Iowa got tee shirts... and all Penn State is going to get is a National Championship trophy and a legacy of a continued dynasty in the making and being wrestling legends.

Yeah- Both teams pretty much celebrated the same, and I doubt Brands or Cael had much to do with it being an event. Both teams are equally looking toward the little happening in Iowa city in a few weeks.
