Thinking ahead, IF we have a home playoff game, how will tickets be allocated?

Any word or rumors on how the University will handle ticket sales?

Several weeks ago, I sent an email to our illustratious staff at the NLC concerning distribution for the first round at Beaver Stadium. Would the selection be season ticket holders, point system, etc.
Responce...they would notify me.
Usual crap from NLC, the a$$e$e$ have no clue in planning in advance.
$250 per ticket really hurts, as i have already given $4,200 this year for my two seats.

UGA has already notified their season ticket holders and fans.....
I would assume PSU & NLC still have their thumbs up their asses, due to Ticketmaster arranging some plan for distribution.

CFP First Round Ticket Request Process

Home Playoff Game

If UGA hosts a CFP first round game, 2024 season ticket holders will have the first right to purchase their same seat locations for that game.

Season ticket holders will have the opportunity to either purchase all the seats on their account or decline tickets. For example, if a season ticket holder has four regular season tickets on their account, they will be required to purchase all four tickets for the home playoff game.

Once the season ticket holder request process is complete, any remaining inventory will be made available to Hartman Fund and Magill Society donors with access to purchase time windows determined by giving level.

Away Playoff Game

Due to the extremely small ticket allotment provided to the visiting team for the first round of the CFP, UGA will not have a donor request process for this situation.

We encourage all fans interested in attending to pursue tickets on the secondary market, such as our ticketing partner, SeatGeek.

Thank you! Good info, unlike your "Ticketmaster" reply 😂

Also, is the time slotting already set based on rankings for the opening home playoff games? Meaning, the 8th ranked team plays Friday night Dec 20, the 7th ranked team plays Saturday at noon Dec 21, the 6th ranked team plays Saturday at 3:30p, and the 5th ranked team plays the primetime Saturday night game?

I don't believe so--that wasn't on the initial releases that I saw anyway
I'd guess that ESPN gets to pick the two games they want then TNT gets the other
For example, if Oregon was the 7 seed they wouldn't be playing at noon.
Also, I don't think they'd have us play on Friday if that's a concern. It's one of the ESPN games but I think they'll try to work with the schools. We'd probably be Noon on Saturday just to annoy people lol

Will a home playoff game sell out?

Bad weather, close to Christmas, and limited tailgating with muddy parking lots. Also a lot of students gone.

For a playoff game...yeah it sells out. Many students live close enough to go. It's on the 20th or 21st so early enough Xmas doesn't matter. Even if it somehow doesn't sell out they'll have 90k+...it will be just fine.

It will 99.9% sell out. Don't forget that if our fans don't pony up, the visiting team's will. Notre Dame would have been a slam dunk with so many "Irish" people within driving distance. And the projections for this week include Alabama and Georgia, who have a rabid fanbase. I guess there could potentially be some scenario where Boise State or Ole Miss fans don't travel.

The game is at the end of finals week and the dorms will still be open. The university moved commencement to Sunday to accommodate the likelihood of a home game that weekend.

IMO the student section will likely be full and rowdy with many of them having had most of the week to get revved up.

the only thing on this list that's a given is close to Christmas. Otherwise, no one can say if the weather's going to be bad, if they limit tailgating, or if the lots are muddy. Dorms will be open so I'm sure they'll be enough students there.
