This Just In Big Ten

Petitti so Big Ten

Not necessarily, Petitti is the ranking Officer of the Big Ten Network as well. The b2g is a not-for-profit athletic conference of 18 not-for-profit universities.... BTN is a "for-profit" broadcasting and media company which is currently privately owned by the b2g and FOX (IOW, the b2g's share is tax-exempt given their non-profit status I believe, but FOX's share of earnings is taxable as a portion of FOX's return I believe). Pretty sure PE ("private equity") would be buying a portion of the for-profit broadcaster / media company from either the b2g, FOX or both...., wouldn't be "purchasing" a part of a Non-Profit that is wholly owned and operated by 18 Non-Profit (primarily "public") Universities.

Looking through 10Ks this morning I found this interesting: Big 10 Network is owned by Fox, Big 10, Schmbechler and Hayes Family Trusts...... that is shocking.

I find that beyond shocking honestly. Ridiculous, like most of this bush conference - amusing how the traditional b2g Homers tell us there are no biases in the conference.... [insert eyeroll].

The B2G Schmbechler/Hayes Network.

The BSH

I guess those two families are the ones forcing on so much of the broadcast schedule.

Go to the boards of other schools in ghe B2G and spread the word. Bet very few know arrangement but all know the results.

Going to the private equity markets was inevitable with all the past, current and future players to pay. Wonder if the latest court decision will now force ND to a conference. Will be interesting to see what valuation Evercore attaches to the BIG.
