It is funny that the Nolf match is getting so much attention. In watching it I never thought Nolf was ever in danger. I guess we have been spoiled by his style, but as I understand he was considered a hammer on top coming into college. The he rode Pantaleo I never thought there was a chance he was getting out. It was just a good understanding of his opponent.

Nolf match means nothing, he got the win. Kind of like when Clagon had a tight one with Zain. It happens. These kids are elite wrestlers and your bound for some close ones here and there. Plus you can figure in styles can affect the outcomes.
Panteleo got first TD on Zain in their dual with a sneaky quick shot. But he did very little shooting in that match. Caught Zain off guard. Same with Nolf as he was over pursuing he caught Nolf sleeping with a nice shot and TD. Now the other TD against Jason was sweet, but again Nolf kind of seemed off guard and was sloppy while on Panteleos leg. Def not taking away from it cause it was nice.
Really though Nolf was attacking but had trouble getting to Alec’s legs cause his plan was to just be defensive and pic his spots. He did a great job and I think Nolf might have underestimated him a bit? Also to see Nolf ride the snot out of him makes you appreciate him that much more. Kid can do it all.

I have to take some responsibility for encouraging my son's UM lean. As we usually visited his Grandfather over Thanksgiving, I sucked it up and got us scalped tickets for the UM/tOSU game in Ann Arbor. It was however a great time watching Michigan hand the Buckeyes

I saw that Massa did not compete against Wick in the next dual. Anybody see/hear if he aggrivated his injury or anything?
Saw that, too, but wondered if maybe the flu has hit the team . . . as it might simultaneously explain Pantaleo being shut out that night.
Sure hope that’s not it. The flu is very contagious, and wrestling with it has possible consequences to the opposing wrestler. Quarantine!! Hopefully this years version of the flu doesn’t impact the conference and NCAA tourneys.
