I agree....why does it have to be Paternoville? I'm a big Joe fan but we need to let some things go.
Because that's where it started so the name should just continue. Did they change the name of the town you live in? No.

As someone who believes the whole stadium should be re-named for JVP, I think Franklinville is a great idea! Franklin has shown lots of love to PSU and the PSU community at large, this gesture would reinforce that bond.
But Paternoville is too great a name to just sit around doing nothing. I say we re-name the parking lots Paternoville each home game. Or maybe the RV lots?

No Disrespect to Joe, but I think naming it after the current coach is a better idea. I'd suggest Franklintown.

Not sure that was the process when the name was changed from Paternoville to Nittanyville.
Nothing wrong with running the suggestion by the organizers and having them think about it. The generic Nittanyville is fine and has been ok, but maybe now they want to return some love to Franklin. Maybe they need to know such a change would be welcomed if they decide to do it. No harm in opening the communication.
Let the denizens of the "ville" name it. It's their town. I prefer Paternoville but I have no vested interest.
I vote Franklintown with a theme song based on "Funkytown". Won't you take me to....Franklintown!

It was changed illegally. Per the clubs constitution it required a meeting to be called with a vote. But it happened over Skype meeting with the officers over the summer so no one else had the chance to stop it from the current regime in charge. #neverforget #stillsalty

People "idolize" athletes, rock stars, movie stars..... Why not coaches? Especially coaches who do things the right way, winning with true student athletes, and playing within the rules.
It's also a vote of confidence in your coach. If we as fans don't believe in the coach, how do we expect the recruits/players to?
Perhaps Jonestown for those that drink the blue koolaid.
Duke has had Krzyzewskiville for many years now and I would assume the original name of Paternoville was based on that. When Mike Krzyzewski retires sometime in the near future, do you think Duke is going to change the name to reflect the next coach, Dawkinsville, Capelville, Wojciechowskiville, etc. Please. Of course not.
